Well, I can see 2 types of records forming:

1) Top Speed Records obtained via the "Speed Test" icon

2) Top Speed Drafting

And one is not relevant to the either.

Drafting is ridiculous in GT5, I like the games driving model but it is areas like this where it stops being a simulation and continues as being a game. Hitting 300mph+ in all these cars it just makes top speed runs pointless as they become drafting competitions where you get boosted by X1's and have nothing really to do with the car in question or any connection to real life.

As someone already said, getting like wipeout.
