Route x oval, just a beginning?

So, I bought the packs yesterday, and hoped on Route X to try it out. Was cruising around it in the X2011 (so it wouldn't take all day, lol) and noticed some things. I believe Route x oval is just the beginning of that track. At first I started wondering what the large roundish concrete structures were. I also notice the road that runs along side the track, then spirals away and runs perpendicular across the track toward those concrete structures. I am guessing that there is a whole lot more track that will be released at some point.
 
I hope it will be a free upgrade for those who purchased the Speed Test DLC.

I wouldn't bet on it. They could have quite easily released various layouts, straight off.
 
But why have a g meter on acceleration only? Also why the figure 8 icon in the g-test area when the track is only an oval?

Which "figure 8" icon? Is there a different one from the one you use to measure top speed?
