Route X Test Numbers Thread

Every test is useless to tell the truth if everyone makes it their own way. I´m getting different times than most of you and i made 2 test for each car and everyone stock. Actually my numbers are close to real life cars but most of you go or compete for the best numbers not the real ones.
I´m trying to see how good is the simulation in this game with each car with stock specifications and tyres. And by now most of them are pretty accurate.
But then i come here and see this thread and i don´t know what to think.
Most of you play the game because it is and that´s fine but i guess i play the 'other way'.

Do this: go to the real dealerships web pages and get the car specifications (as i did), i mean check gearbox, rpm, acceleration 0 to 100 and max speed. Then check in the game if PD put the same exact ones as they did with the Nissan GT-R 2012 and most of the cars. And finally test them as it should be without tuning the cars or changing anything.
See what you got. But don´t try to be the best here giving the best numbers. Tell us if the car in the game 'runs' as the real life counterpart.
I´m doing this right now. (testing all Nissan´s GT-R)

I agree with all of this, how ever, That's not exactly what this thread is for, It is to gather information on what the car, CAN do in the best case scenario. (On Gran Turismo 4)

I was just going in the order you see them on your screen. User Friendly-ness is key

I kinda wondered why you had them in that order. My screen has them ordered differently. On my screen, it's 0-1/4 Mile, 0-1 Mile, 0-60 mph, 0-100 mph, Max. Speed, Max. G-Force.

damn really?:nervous:

because as soon as you do it, the screen came up, and thats what i seen?
Plus, The Order I have them in is the order you would experience them. The G force, followed by the 60 mph mark, then the 1/4, then the full mile.

Well, when I'm actually performing the run, Max. G pops up first, then 0-60, etc. like you described. But the after-run menu is what I was going by:

I know, I realized that a few minutes ago, but I think posting it in the orderthat the actions happen, would be the best

The actual run, the info screen and the order that the numbers occur all display the numbers differently, OP's order is easier to right the numbers down while you are actually doing the run while the info screen is a more traditional order.

Either way I have only submitted about 8 or so sets of numbers into this thread for stock cars and can easily edit them to any order required.

If possible it would be great if the numbers could be entered into a database of sorts so you can hit tabs to order them ascending/descending on each relevant figure, but I have the IT skills of a squirrel so haven't got a clue how.

GT5 doesnt model launches very well, it gives 4wd's a massive boost when in reality you can rarely just drop the clutch on a 4wd without risking firing some of the drivetrain through the floor, even launch control systems limit the throttle to match loads etc to avoid damage. It also ignores many of the launch control or traction control systems on other cars, the mclaren 12c should fire itself to 60 in a tad over 3s but as GT5 ignores the launch control, LSD and traction control system features it takes a full second more to hit the first benchmark.

But you cant really compare too directly with reality and this thread is more about comparing ingame cars to each other.

Do you have to actually set it to imperial?

Well fortunately they realised this at PD and added the option km/mph under the driving options at the speed test, which switches the performed tests and results accordingly.

Interestingly, when having done a run under the metric system, it saves and recalculates those results for the imperial system results. Only not the 1 mile time obviously, since the metric test only goes to 1000m and not 1600.
...Which also makes for different setups for each system :indiff:

Whoops, I just realised my Amuse S2000 GT1 Turbo record is the same as the Acura NSX record I did.

Blast my copy-paste habits, i'll update it when I get the chance. Done. And while i'm at it, i'll add some more cars.

After testing several cars acceleration, I found out that to get the closest 0-60 time, you need to turn the traction control to 1, I managed 3.5sec in 458, 3.3sec in GT-R Black edition, 3.8sec in Audi R8V10 however with the McLaren MP4-12C it was 4.4 sec which was rubbish.

So this is done with tc off? interesting I might try that again later:tup:
The fax machine should be able to do it under 3 sec but we don't have launch control in GT5, if they implement the launch control in the game, it wouldn't be very useful as almost all the races in GT5 is rolling start.

Yup. I'll tell you the secret. Launch in second gear. You'll bounce off the limiter at about 66-67 so shift then. I got the same 0-60 time every time.

Interesting, I didn't think to do that. I may try it next time. Thanks!

Yes Launching in second saves a couple tenths for cars with enough power to not bog down. It happens because unless you shift at the perfect rpm/speed, the 1-2 shift is very abrupt and long.

Is this result from launching 2nd gear as well? It wouldn't work on all cars, would it? My GT-R Black Edition did 0.03.365 with TC at 1

Nope, 1st gear here with no TC again..The Amuse below though, 2nd gear, very trick upshift to 3rd, No TC

May be good to have driving option units of speed switch mentioned in OP for those who don't realize. 0-1000m is also added to leaderboard when using miles.
