Introducing the New RGT/RS based on the Porsche GT3 mk2. The RGT/RS is the successor to the RUF RGT already featured in Gran Turismo 3. Available with or without high downforce rear wing.

But is it too late for this car to be featured in GT4? :banghead: What are your thoughts?

No. I bet Sony were given info about the car long before you knew about it. I bet we see it in the game.

Oh, it's spelled Ruf.

Too late? To late is probably just a about a month before the final pressing of the game. PD will more than likely just keep modeling/adding cars up until the last minute.

SolidLifters, whats this about spelling. In the photo which I presume is the RUF office it is spelt as RUF Automibile GmbH. Looks like 3 capitals to me in two positions! Wouldn't RUF get the spelling right on their own building.

All capitals are often use when a sign is put up for a car company. I see FORD all the time at the local Ford dealer.

Ruf is the last name of the man who started the company, and it often is spelled Ruf in articles.

Just a helpful hint. You can ignore if you want.

I surely hope that KY-san makes it possible again to make racing-mods, and this time also for the cars known under the name RUF, or Ruf, of rUf, of ruF, . . .

We need a sticky with all the basic info on Ruf...

Why bother. Nobody's gonna see it. And, if they did, they would still type RUF, anyway.

Aslong as you spell it right..... the R the U and a F then your good to go, on the building in those pics there all capitals... RUF, if they wnated to to be Ruf then the building would read Ruf and not RUF so don't make a huge deal over a name, its better than spelling it RUFF...

Wow. You guys will fight over anything.

Yes Ruf is a name. His name is Alois Ruf. He's the founder of the company.

But it doesn't really matter if you use RUF, Ruf, or ruf, etc. I'm pretty sure that even the nit-pickers will know what you're talking about.

And by the way, it's pronounced like "roof". Thought you might want to know. :D

Awesome car by the way! 👍 I say rip the wing off & go with the ducktail!

Have one or the other but both looks stupid.

If it's available now, it's been in production for a while, so when the GT4 guys dropped round to get models, what better way to advertise your shiny as yet unreleased car than to give them the plans and have it in GT4?

Just to clear some things up:

1) We spell it both "RUF" and "Ruf." There is no real rhyme or reason.

2) The Ruf RGT RS has just this month started production. The Mexico Blue example you see on the first page is the very first RGT RS built. The RGT RS made its debút at the Rennsport Reunion II in Daytona late last month.

3) Unfortunately, the Sony crew did not model the RGT RS before it was built. I can understand the frustration of those who wish for it to be present in the game; it is most certainly a beautiful car, especially in the Mexico Blue colour.

Cheers,

Tristan Bayless
RUF Automobile GmbH

Do they plan on modelling it after it is built? Still over five months until the release.

Hi Guys! First post for me, wahey :)
You might know this already but the RUF R-Turbo will be in the game. Some guys from Polyphony UK went over to a member of the m5board.com forum and took pictures + sounds from his red R-Turbo. He also brought his E39 M5 which probably also will be in the game. Funny thing is I didn't see either of them in the photos of all the cars at E3.. Hope they just kept them as surprises so you don't know all the cars when it's finally out :)

JayJam-

As far as I know, only regular RUF's were modeled by the Sony team. However, as we've all seen in the past with the fantasy "LM Edition" racecars (like the delSol LM or first FTO LM), the PD team is quite apt at creating their own racing modifications out of thin air.

I suppose the answer then is.... maybe.

By the way, nice avatar! CTR 2 Sport at the Virginia City Hillclimb, circa 2000. If you didn't know, go to www.pulpracing.com to find the full story on that hillclimb.

If you do have any contacts with Polyphony, I'd love it if you could invite them to model it now.

Then again, I dare say you'll be a bit busy with the new '997' coming out very soon. Doubt you'll be allowed to say, but is it likely that Porsche will bring out a GT(2,3) 997 or 997 RS model?
