Hey all,

so, as said, the RUF Yellowbird Competition will begin on 1st dec. and will end 1st jan 2011.

Were going to be doing this in Arcade mode, completely stock, N1 Tyres ( Comfort Hard Tyres)[/B]

I hope the online racing rules are known to everyone, tread this car like its your own car in real life. NO WALL RIDING OR SHORT CUTTING...

SUBMIT YOUR FASTEST LAPS REPLAYS HERE.

record it with a mobile phone, digi cam, or whatever, or just straight upload it to youtube.

Non Submitted replay competitors are NOT registered for the competition.

THE WINNER OF THE GTP_CHRIS RUF YELLOWBIRD 'RING COMP. WILL RECEIVE A KART STEERING WHEEL SIGNED BY ME (the wheel will fit you G25. Instructions will be giving out to the winner once the competition is over)

I'm still hunting for the car in used car dealers... Man do i want it!

edit: @ Chris, With the people who use a steering wheel, the ones that put it on "arcade" wil drift less easily and will be faster, it's maybe a good point to say that "simulation" is needed? Just a thought. ;)
 
I'm up for the challenge. I got here from your youtube videos.

I suppose we need to start the video recording when selecting the car so you can verify we used the correct tires/settings?
 
Oh man comfort hard tires? This is going to be fun. I should hopefully have my replay up here by tonight. :)
 
!!!UPDATE NOTICE!!!

I was just informed by a couple of GT5 users, that there is no real way of proofing what kind of tyres you are using, or if the RUF Yellowbird is completely stock!!!

In GT4, the beginning of the replay showed you which tyres you were using, etc... but IN GT5 it doesnt.

NOW SINCE THIS IS A COMPETITION WERE A (KINDA EXPENSIVE) PRIZE WILL BE WON, I WOULD LIKE TO BE 110% SURE THAT THERE IS NO CHEATING.

Im going to give everyone here a heads up tomorrow in the first video!

I'm also going to have to hope I can find the car. Haven't had any luck in the used car lot yet with finding it... Once I do(if I do), I'll reply letting you know I'm in.

I wrote that because i got a lot of question, regarding "how to i join this comp" on youtube.

You need to be a member of GTPlanet - it is not neccessary to have a GTP_Tag!

For those of you who don't already know this...

A quick way to cycle the used car dealership is to start an A-spec practice race. Let the track load and if i remember correctly, you don't even have to start the race. Just press exit and should have 6 new cars.

I've done this like 100 times and still no yellowbird... I'm getting close to losing all hope.

Yeah I feel your pain. I've been doing just that (it works with practice mode too) for an hour. Still no Yellowbird :grumpy:

wow, i guess i must have been really lucky with my cycle. Got all the RUF's , only the RGT is missing for my collection :lol:

If people are still unable to purchase the RUF Yellobird by end of the week (Sunday) then i will most likely extend the duration of the competition...

Am in too please, hmm might have to upload it on a friends youtube account from a horrible cam phone haha. Do you want us showing the selection screen of the tires and that it is stock and so on? Also for people who do not have the car but have gtpsp, you can just import the car into arcade mode and use it there. Good luck everyone and thanks for holding this competition Chris!

Still no Ruf for me either... I gave up last night and took a break to mod my g25 shifter. Nice resistance feel now :).

Dont actually know if you can win it anywhere, but it should appear in the used car section at some point.

In fact, another Yellowbird just appeared in my used section today!

I have extended the competition until 1st of February, due to the fact that lots of people still dont have the game and those who have it, didnt find the RUF Yellowbird yet!!!

I'm still in awe every time I watch Stefan Roser fling the Yellowbird around the 'ring in his loafers in the Ruf Faszination video 👍
