I'd just like to say that RUF is not a wannabe porsche it is a better porsche. I have the original CTR and the CTR2 in my garage, and I'd take these out over my ferrari (550 MAranello) they'r ejust the greatest cars.

Quote: from RockyMaivia on 9:26 pm on Aug. 8, 2001[br]Riiiiiiiiiight, you have a 550 Maranello, a $212,000+ car...
 Now thats some funny shat               :rotfl:

Rufs suck. Why do you think theyre cheaper, less used, and new to 50% of the people who play gt3 due to the fact that theyre not used. They suck. Which company has been there longer.

Coming to a videogame forum to brag about cars you don't own, and probably have never even seen...

That's so pathetic I can't even laugh at your ignorance... :nervous:

I like the looks and the power of the Ruf CRT2.  =)

Talking about crazy cars. Anyone seen a McLaren F1??

Someone up above must have liked me because one day I was walking down the street and a McLaren F1 was filling up with petrol at a station! Strolled on over and looked inside and all over that beast. The owner didn't mind he was cool!!

um, GT3 maniac, are you serious or sarcastic?

A friend of mine has a RUF custom custom interior and uspension, and they were like 25,000 in addition to the price of his boxster S.

RUF is a tuning company for porsche like AMG was for Benz.  They buy incomplete cars from the factory, and finish them the way they are ordered.  They are a hella lot more expensive, and have enhanced performance to match the price. (diminishing returns aside)

RUF isn't a tuning company, it is a full-on car manufacturer. That is why their cars are in GT3, because they are totally separate from Porsche.

wrong
Ruf is a tuning company.
They sell porsches pre-tuned with their stuff, and call them RUF models.  They buy engines and chassis straight from the factory and do what they will to them.  Assemble them and add their go-fast parts.  They are sold through porsche dealers on a build to order basis.

You can buy components through your porsche dealership, or get them pre-installed.

I'm going to pfaffenhoefen in the next year, I'll send you pictures of the plant.

In real life Porsche's and RUF's are good cars but in GT3 the RUF CTR2 isn't as good as a fully tuned Skyline or Calsonic Skyline or any other car such as the Escudo, GT1, R390, Supra etc etc...

my ferrari cost 220,000  yes i own all the cars and ruf is a tuning company. And If the in came price is cheaper so what the F1 cars are worth 250,000 I gaurantee u schmacher doesnt drive a 250,000 dollar car.

Isn't there another company that tunes trucks?  I think it's called something like LingenFelter.... i saw where they had tuned up a Sierra model.

RUF is the best, any german car is better then those cheap american built and japanese built peices of crap. ITs all about European cars baby

Thats if you drive like a girl.

WHAT??? Any german would smoke a cheap ass american car like a z28

an S4 would kill Z28,SS,RS, any other cheap ass cars,

and japanese cars i wont even start! Their engine is made in Mexico for sake

not all Japanese engines are made in mexico, btw.
And, as far as the reason ANY foreign car will last longer then any american car, and that most foreign cars will out perform domestic equivalents, (don't compare a hyundia to a viper, duh), the reason is pretty simple. Foreign automakers actually reinforce their engines. If you put a chevy 350 on the ground the bottom end will deform tremendously, however, if you put a honda engine on the ground you will get minimal damage (don't try this at home). Foreign engines are just stonger physically, and they have must tighter tolerance levels in their engineering.
I also think it is about time to retire OHV engines. I mean COME ON!!! is it so hard to put DOHC into engines? No, it isn't. The corvette grandsport did it.
Only recently has there been any sign of american automakers trying to make a good engine. And by good I mean throwing out the saying "there's no replacement for displacement". The best example is the new trailblaver engine. Finally, Inline 6, and it makes a ton of power! 270 if i remember correctly. Stop making those damn v-6's. I had an 85 fiero v6 with 110hp. 110HP!!!!! what the ****!!!! Ok, I'm done now :)

yeah i agree with higgimonster

You can't deny the styling of a RUF though. They are very pretty cars ... and for stylish street cars, they perform quite well. I wouldn't disown a friend for buying one.
