I had a E30 (325i), E28 (525i) and E39 (523i). And I'd love to get a E31 (although I know what kind of nightmare it can be).

A lot of love for the old Beemers. Not so much for the new ones. :D

I like my E46 a lot. I think I would have liked your E30 325i even better (assuming it was manual). The E30 325i was actually one of the more surprisingly good cars I've ever driven.

Yes both old ones were manual. 523i was an auto unfortunately. But it was a joy to drive and own. Best looking 5-series without a doubt. However I have a soft spot for E28 too. Unfortunately my car rusted badly as we use road salt during winters here in Finland.

The thing about old BMWs is that they leak. They leak air on the intake, and they leak oil. Sometimes they leak radiator fluid, and that's a particularly bad day.

Plastic and rubber that just deteriorates.

Have you driven a third generation RX7? The quality isn't close to the NSX, but the driving experience...when everything is working right....is incredible.

Sadly I have not. I really wanted one, like really bad. And I looked into it in great depth and realized that it is too difficult to own.

My man said, "Why have RX7 when one can have a M3, NSX, & ITR?"

Lol, just messing, though. What's in your toy box these days?

Yes they are not reliable. Old Mercs are so much better built.

Want a reliable car? Buy a Volvo V70 diesel or Toyota Corolla. But life is too short for boring cars (cliche but true). :D

No M3, I still have my 330i. Here's my lineup:

FX35
Sienna
330i
'93 MR2
'93 NSX
'98 ITR

I think if I were going to add something to this list it might be something like a CRX, maybe a prelude, S2000 seems unlikely. I'm not sure I can stomach the GTR. I'm kindof out of parking spots. Right now, even this morning, I'm trying to keep the FX35 from being scrap metal. I'm having some kind of airbag problem and there are a lot of discontinued parts.

You have 3 NA sports cars, 2 NA performance-adjacent cars, and an NA minivan.

I think you need something heavily turbocharged in your life. I'd argue for a Z32 300zx or an FD RX7.
