Just go to the tuning forums so many tuners have tunes for them , test a few out and see wich tune suits you're driving style the most ...

I love the BTR , got a few of them in my garage , and with a good tune they are a blast to drive , just keep in mind some tunes might not suit you're driving style and will actually make the car feel worse ...

Also for the BTR and Yellow bird goes learn to drive them , smooth is fast ... they are not some honda you can toss around ...

Thinking about it it may be worth testing out at a simple short lap track in the base car.

Autumn Ring springs to mind as it has a nice combo of corner types, but the change of direction that the series of chicanes next to the lake will give you plenty of chances to feel the back end dancing about. take it slow then build up your speed.

Get your lines then build up your pace.

Listen to your inner Alec Guiness or Frank Oz and be one with the car. (And turn the hairdresser girly-man driver aid off.)

^^^ Sorry, I accidentally reported that as spam... The format looked just like a very common copy and paste spam message.

Also cheers on the tuning advice, I am going to give some of these a go on my other RUF. Keep one ornery and keep one tamed.

That sounds like a great idea.

I personally don't see the point in tuning Rufs. There's a million cars that behave "better" stock but none which give you the thrill of driving a stock Ruf.

Unless you're going for pure power, like turbo upgrade for the Yellowbird. Makes it even more fun.

Doesn't matter what you do with them. Always have at least TWO RUFs.

One of them, keep stock. The other, do what you need to get the most out of it.

The ballast at front is a really good "difficulty level adjuster"... the less you use, the better you need to be.

I think anything up to 60-80kg at front still keep the car spirit and main characteristic, thus making it smoother. Anything over this kinda kill the whole feeling. But, turns them into leathal track weapons, when handled properly.

It's like a weight dangling off a string held between your thumb and finger.

If you can keep on the throttle and keep the rear wheels turning through the turn the rear engine locks into the road.

Any time you are turning and ease off the gas the weight of the engine makes the car want to swap ends.

Simple as that.

So to me the secret is to control your throttle into the entry of the turn, feel the car settle and then apply more throttle as you exit. Pretty much a slingshot effect.

No doubt a stock RUF is fun.
Great for a solo drive but when it comes to race time then I'll take my tuned one over stock any day of the week.

Tuning doesn't have to mean slapping more horses on the car or even upgrading the tires.
Sometimes some suspension tweaks are all that required to enable the car to behave and shave seconds off a lap time where someone driving stock will struggle.

Every race team will try and tune any car to the track they are racing on to gain an advantage.

Of course if it's just a Sunday drive that makes you grin from ear to ear that your after then stock is fun for sure.

The BTR isn't bad in the stock 500pp category. It has the straight line edge over any of the big players (RGT, M3 CSL) and you can keep people behind in the corners even with comfort soft.

Alas, I think I'm the only one who gets happy when I get the Vanquish, Stratos, or Yellow Bird in a shuffle race.

The RUFs go pretty fast. There's no reason to be gunning it needlessly.

EASY ON THE THROTTLE.

Drop your power limiter to 50% and put on race softs...
Sarcasm doesn't go over so well on the internet. Good God I hope that was sarcasm.
