I was thinking that I was getting close to finishing with GT5, so I thought I'd make a list of things I'd still like to explore ...

after a few seconds, I came up with the following list, please add your suggestions, it'll save a few quid on buying another game!! these are what I have left to do .... (other than keep buying interesting cars, most of my 250+ garage hasn't been used yet!)

1 Complete B-Spec Endurance
2 Complete Seasonal Races
3 Have a go at the time trails, drifting ...
4 Complete Gold in all licences (one of the salom events is proving difficult)
5 Complete Gold in all Special events
6 Complete A-Spec Extreme
7 Complete A-Spec Endurance
8 Arcade with friends
9 Tune a Car - improve the best laptime (follow the tuning guide)
10 Gold in all A-Spec races in A-Spec Extreme (keep falling off at Nurburgring)
11 Create circuits in the track creator (and use them - wish I could create A-Spec events)
12 Use photo mode - locations
13 Use Photo mode - race replays
14 Compare the stock performance of cars, re-doing events, but in more challenging cars (lower power, less grippy tyres)
15 standing start laptimes on the Top Gear, check against reality

So, maybe, I'm not running out of ideas. Thought I'd still post this, as maybe somebody else is!

Online. Simples.

What I like to do is time trial on the Nurburgring Nordschleife (change time) in the go kart...

It gets properly dark towards the end of the lap and you have no lights...

Good luck. If I had the F2007 or F10, I would do something similar.

I knew that I'd forgot something really stunningly obvious in my list - thanks!!

I know what you mean. GT5 is a small game as far as racing goes. All I really do is race online and collect cars. Right now I am collecting all the super cars in the game like Corvettes, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Vipers, Aston Martins, etc.

Have you gotten the "penniless" trophy yet? If not, one idea would to grind up 20 mil and buy yourself a over-priced car and get yourself a shiny trophy!

That is a good idea! I do have an F1 Car, but wouldn't the suspension need to be much softer to get a decent experience driving Nordschleife?

The what trophy! not heard of that - like the idea of going for it. I guess I have to have zero credits. mmmm ....

Exactly, get done to zero credits. Can be challenging, if you didn't do with your first car. Something to do at the least.

No idea... Had the f2007 in gt5p and can remember it being a bit of a handful. With the go kart, it is properly dark before the end of lap one. Trying to get back to the finish without voiding your laptime can be quite a challenge.

Other thing to do is join one of the online racing leagues that fit in your timeslot to see how well you do against other racers with similar cars, different setups etc :)

Thats what i do now ... very poorly but its still fun :sly:

Try collecting one of every car, standard and premium, race to earn the credits for purchase and do it without duping. Not easy an easy task, you should try it. 👍

Nice idea, but I'm mainly interested in European cars .... Japanese cars aren't so interesting to me. I really would rather have the equiverlant number of MG Rovers & Fords than Nissans and Toyotas.

I would like Ford Capri Laser, Mk 1 3000 GXL, 2600 RS?, 2.8i, Turbo Tickford, 3000S, 3000S X Pack etc I would buy this as a DLC!

I'll stick to just buying the cars I consider to be interesting!

i am at the moment doing suggestion number 15. I have already done 100+ recorded lap times on the track, and i will keep going until i have 2062 i.e a lap with all cars both in stock and tuned version. : ) haha. It is actually very good, because you discover new cars you hadn't though of buying. I have for instance got myself a new favorite car. the Acura NSX RM tuned. It is just fantastic. And you also lean a whole lot of new things about driving. For instance before i did it, i was always late on the breaks and then quite messy out of the corner. Now i am much slower into the corner, but waaaay faster out of them. It has really changed my driving style. And it learned me to drive without the racing line aid on. Lots of good things about it : )

The case makes a great coaster for my beer.......

I know it's technically not something to do but you can at least get some use out of it...

just a thought...

With the new update 1.06, the track maker can be used online. Try to make your perfect track and then the world is your oyster!

restart...and dont dupe cars...lol

I actually was thinking of starting again, but on another account, so good idea

I have to confess that I haven't duped, but may have got one or two cars that almost certainly have been!

Use this to make rally stages. Provides for some awesome rally fun :D

Provided you have a good quality FFB steering wheel, a healthy dose of imagination and commitment, GT5 can last a lifetime.

Having bought GT5 a few days before Xmas (and a month after it was released), I've been playing GT5 almost everyday (late night)- GT5 is the only game I own at the moment. I hardly ever spent my time in GT Life and have yet to race online (at level 28 A-spec and 3 B-spec). The only time I would use GT Life is when I want to get a new car. I don't own an X1 nor a Formula GT but I have all the cars I'd want to drive including the Zonda R, almost all the Super GT race cars (but not from every team) and the Peugeot 908 HDi.

Times are spent mostly with one car on one track. For example last night was the Nordschleife with the Enzo although I did put a few laps with the latest McLaren. A few nights ago for the first time since I got the game, I was driving around the Clubman Stage Route 5 with various cars. Half of that time was spent in replay mode- PD did a splendid job with this track.

Obviously I have plenty to do: finish GT Life (which I doubt I'll ever will), get myself the P4, Mk IV and the F10 and do some online races. On top of that I want to start using Photomode and design some courses.

Use the Jay Leno Tank Car in any race:D
It's complete crap, but yse it anyway:lol::lol::lol:

This is what I'm going for - I personally don't consider a game like this complete until it's been accomplished - but with the added challenge of driving them all at least once in an A-spec competition. Not only does it earn credits and Ticket 1000s towards new cars, but I'm hoping it'll minimise the amount of grinding I'll need to do in the endurance series!

At least silver the AMG special events beginner and intermediate. You'll know the ring much better.

From there test out all your cars on the ring. With some cars you can treat the track like a rally circuit; big fun. Right now I'm trying to put together a perfect lap. Sliding from tire rubber to tire rubber without ever getting the nose of the car past perfect. It's been about a month now and I still don't have the perfect lap. The best car so far is the Peugeot 205 Evo Rally Car.

The smaller Zondas stock with soft tires are super fun.

There was somebody I believe was on this site years ago tried a "spend no money" attempt at GT4. Essentially start a fresh game and gold the licenses, take those cars and win others etc. I don't know if GT5 is setup well enough to get very far with that or not but I plan on having a go at it if I get bored. The goal is to get as high a completion % as possible. If it forces you to get a car at the start maybe take the kart or something.

I like that idea, although I have just (literally 2 hours ago) started another account: I quite enjoy going through the levels

I did buy a car, a Honda Civic that demolished the opposition in the first race
i'll go through using as few cars as possible - I'll have to keep looking for those interesting cars to buy though

Thanks for the reply,
Like the ideas, I haven't got around to racing online.

I am higher in B-spec than A-spec (32 to 30! - which I guess is slightly unusual - But I really wanted to be able to pick up some of the 5 million cars: FGT, Jaguar XJR-9, Bentley Speed 8, Mercedes Sauber C9 when they became available after I'd won the Minolta, I also have a nice collection of Ferrari & Lamborghini supercars.)

I haven't invested in a steering wheel, used one when I first got GT4 and hated it. (It was probably a cheap and nasty one as it came in a bundle with the PS2 and GT4 game). May do now, as I am still quite keen on GT5.

I do like the ring, and am kind of learning it
probably 10,000 laps from knowing it well though!

Problem I have, is spending the time learning how to set up cars for it.
I gather that quite a bit of suspension travel is needed, and then long gearing to keep from hitting the rev limiter in the final straights, but I tend to loose too much acceleration during the twisty bits.
