i just rented auto modellista (5th time ever i should just buy the damn thing)
and im in drift heaven, even tho the physics arent realistic and theres hardly any need for countersteering etc etc.

but theres one thing ive noticed, along with playing touge 3 and the battle gear series.......is these games have rythim.
im goin down akagi rokko in AM and theres barely a second where im not drifting! left! right! left! right! brakes1 downshift....switch...upshift.....oh man over and over...and if you hit a wall and stop, you get that feeling that the whole run is wasted... you dont get this feeling in GT3:(
just thought id share this feeling....who agrees?

Go buy Auto Modellista then :p

I don't have any experience in the games you mentioned, but when I drift and I spin out in a turn or something, I get mad ( ) and then I try to take the turn slowly the next time I tackle the turn. It also makes me impatient if I have good drifts after the part where I mess up.

I believe you make GT3 as fun as you make it. If you don't make it fun, then it's boring. On the contrary, then it will be because of the experience. It's all in the mind of the driver/drifter ;)

I love drifting in GT3 because its a challenge, it requires so many intriciate user inputs to do just one good drift. If I mess up, or I'm having a bad go of it, or even if I mess up really bad all day, I just keep at it. I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to my driving, so I am still SO far from how good I want to be, but I dont get frustrated or mad, I just keep pressing on and on. Games like Auto Modellesta that dont require much to do good in ARE fun, for a while, but they get boring SO fast, because pretty soon its all muscle memory, and then what? It takes much longer to accomplish this in GT3, its alot more realistic.

I love the feel of the road in GT3, if you go up over a hill, you can almost feel the car lift off the ground, and then settle back down, and the feedback of the car fighting you and when it grips and doesnt is so awesome. My wheel messed up the other day and I didnt get force feedback, and I was like *meh, I can drift without it*, haha, yah right, I was in more walls than were on the stinking track, so I Reset it and voila, I could drift again, lol. Other games just dont measure up imo, and I cant WAIT for GT4, I dont care how much the dang thing costs, I HAVE to get it when it comes out :)

But as for rythem, I agree, and thats fun, for a few minutes... lol. Always good for a break from GT3 when I get bored or just need a break from it. I usually just hit up the seriously lame drifting in NFS: UG.

LOL, two misspellings in so many posts. Anyway, I bought AM, and I have to say it was fun, until I beat it the first day. I found the physics to be absolutely horendous. I don't think what you do in AM could be called drifting IMO. You cannot control the slide, therefore it is not a drift. You use the wieght of the car to start the slide, but once your sliding you can't hold the drift with the throttle, countersteer, and braking techniques. I agree with Bryan, GT3 is the only satisfying game for drifting out there IMO. ;)
