S-3 License help needed!

Not really. A7 is 14.2 seconds of pure frustration for most people. Try to beat him on a full course and you'll have your work cut out for you. He's better than me and I've made gold on A7 at least a dozen times.

I hate that turn/license test. :banghead::banghead:

hmmm...whats s7 again. i got silver for most but gold for s8:D thats easy like someone said just keep it in third and blaze around, but shift up to fourth in the straights, its actually the most fun licence to gain..:mischievous: what bout u guys.

A-7 is the Camaro up the hill and around the right turn at Seatle. It's one of the shortest license tests in the game--which is part of why it's so hard.

S-7 is a full lap in the Griffith around SSR11.

ooooh...the camaro one was eevil man. but the griffith one i got it way later on in the game, i got silver on second go. i was pretty surprised miself.

Don't be. That one is very easy, yet it's not the easiest for the S license.

Be surprised that nobody has warned you about your posting, though.

:D :D cheers, thats saying asomething about me then. but on the whole, i reely didnt think s licences were that hard. a little tricky but, but, but......oh sod it.

And your friend is? Does he do any OLR's? Or submit times to any databases?

Honestly I really find it hard to believe that someone with skill would have trouble beating the liscens. That is unless that person cant adjust to a car that they didnt get to setup. I can somewhat see that as a deturance but that means they lack the ability to adapt to different cars that they have no control over the setup. Which in this case its good to have that ability to adjust to different cars.

That assumption is incorrect. I have Bronze on all the S licenses and I have won F1 cars.

However, I do believe there is a correlation between getting the S License and getting F1 cars.

I'm 99% of the way finished with the game; I only have about 4 endurance races left but I've put those on hold.

I started the game with all gold medals in the B license exam so I could get the Miata and save the $18k to put towards the Mustang Cobra R. Now I've gone back and gotten all gold licenses for A, IB and I'm working on IA right now.

Going back and doing the license exams all started 3 weeks ago when I turned a 27.696 second lap time at work (Speedring Indoor Kart-Racing). My previous best: 30.069. It was that day I realized I could actually drive better than I thought I could originally and figured I could put this towards GT3.

Actually, he's ranked very highly in the databases and he does well in OLR. I'm not going to name him though. I don't think he'd want me to. If you do much OLR, particularly on sites other than this one, you'd probably recognize his name.

Can anyone get gold on A7 consistently? Like I said, I've done it at least a dozen times. However, I think I average at least 100 non-gold runs to every 1 gold run on that test. With most of the tests, if I haven't done them in a while, it takes me around 5-10 attempts to get gold and then I start getting gold at least 1 in 5 if not better (for some it's gold nearly every time). The guy I'm talking about is similar (though most of his times are better than mine). I have all golds. I nearly have solid gold (at least 6 golds on all but a few tests). I have a little more patience than some people.

A7 is a very frustrating test and he just doesn't have the patience. Go get gold A7 again and let us know how many attempts it took.

The point is, A7 is not a good test of racing ability. S licenses are much better because they reward consistency. A7 just requires you to nail one little turn freakishly well.

Not everyone is going to place the same importance on getting all golds as I do or as you apparently do. There's nothing wrong with that and it doesn't mean that they are not good or that they are inexperienced. You are buying into bad premises and making bad logic.

tru, true.... hey man u kinda put people down by sayin that. if i was tryin for gold and u sed that to me, id be kinda put down and probarbly wouldent bother after that. instead u could giv'em tips and help. im no gud at givin people help, cos i tend to confuse them even more.
and solid lifters, whats wrong with my posting:confused:

I'm 42-3-3 and the further I go in the golds, the slower I am to succeed (makes sense, you would say), but also the less motivated I get.
When I'm fed up with IA7 (Skyline on twisting :yuck: track) or R7 (Lancia Delta) I go for 20 runs on IA2 (S2000 flat-out on Trial Mountain). After that I'm zen enough to resume that other :banghead: licence.

yeah, iwas like that myself. but then i needed the license and had to do them. fortunatly i found them easier, cos of practice. i think it depends when the person feels thyre most comfortable.
im no asvise giver, cos i tend to end up talkin **** and confusing the person even more.:D

Taowulf,
The correlation is incorrect. Lots of people have won F1 cars without having the S license. Prize cars are totally random.

To be more specific, I think you can only win F1 cars at the enduros, Pro League Dream Car, Polyphony Digital, Formula GT and finishing Pro or Enduro leagues. The IA license is all that's required for enduros. The S license is required for the other three.

I was going to make a post about the B8 license test but figured its a waste of bandwidth.I can not do it no matter what methods I've tried.Granted I am a noob to GT3 A spec but I have disabled the ASM/TSC,and listened closely to wheelspin.THink you're supposed to grab a time better than 34 seconds but I always get somewhere around 34.102 and up:banghead: :mischievous: :irked: I've spent at least 3 freaking hours on this damned exam and I am getting a bit irritated.

3 hours? That's nothing. I've spent hundreds of hours (months) on some tests.

That said, I don't think anyone has done it that fast ever. The PAL gold time is 42.8 seconds (NTSC 43.0). 46.0 is all you need for bronze. Assuming you transposed 43 to 34 (twice), I assume you're going for gold. This one is one of the tougher golds in the game (especially the PAL time). It has caused much cursing. I say watch the demo car against your best run ghost. The key points are the hard right after the first tunnel and that long wide left turn through the second and into the third tunnel (especially this last one). You've got to apex both of these turns and carry as much speed as you can through them.

Here's a pretty good description:

sorry, it was SOLID LIFTERS that answered my post earlier. but u seem to have noticed aswell. yeah i know..i know. i use texting alot, therefore its sort of grown into a habit. ive actually used it in an english exam by mistake:D , i still dont know wether they took off marks off for that. hell anyway ill try to make it better.
all i can say is practice, practice and practice. i know its a b***h, but watch the demo and check out the racing line closely. im sure itll help you.;) cheers

i keep having trouble with this test, i driven this test almost for an hour, and still i havent got gold on it :grumpy: , you cant make any mistake on the full lap or u lose all our speed and the stupid miata won't accelerate.
argh...anyone has better lines than the demo maybe?
i can get the first @ 23:909 and the second @ 48:85 but the third is always to damn slow, @1:26:2-3 something
any1 has thoughts?
