Week 7 is intended to be a tuning challenge. I intentionally designed so the same car can't win all 3 races. The race at The Streets Of Willow Springs Reverse tests traction and handling with big horsepower. The race at Special Stage Route X a test of top speed and fuel efficiency. Simply throwing a supercharger on the Gr.3 will not win this race. And Grand Valley Highway 1 requires a little bit everything.
Big horsepower is definitely not needed to go fast at SOW

Just 1 day until the final week Corvette Festival. A 3 race Corvette themed tuning challenge. At 3 different tracks. The track selection was intended to make it very difficult to win all 3 races with the same car. And to complete a side goal of holding at least 1 races at US real or fictional tarmac race track in the US.

Also I decided to move up the Porsche 962C One-Make Nurburgring Special from December 6th to November 29th as of now. I can always move it back into December if needed. I can't reverse time.

Most passing will happen by carrying more speed thru the corners and by mistakes, probably mostly by mistakes, SOW backwards races horribly, the track does not flow like it does in the correct direction.
The Streets Of Willow Springs is a bi-directional course in real life. So there is no correct direction. The course counterclockwise provides easier passing opportunities for higher performing cars. I noted it is quite difficult in particular to keep traction through that final kink. That will open up passing opportunities into the skid pad turn.

I feel that the track drives and races far better in the "correct" direction. Heck, you can't even come off of the last corner wide open without almost accidentally entering the pits. It seems like most corners are increasing radius corners going backwards where it seems like the norm for track designers are decreasing radius corners. It just doesn't flow well going "backwards".

Well I can tell you from experience running races the "correct" direction. You'll never pass people counterclockwise at this performance without them going off course. The 2 possible passing points are too dangerous clockwise. And increasing corners exist. Like that weird hairpin at Fuji that existed even on the old layout.

Now that think about it though Willow Springs in general really like the changing radius corners. All 3 tracks have them.

Wrong!!!!! Did you forget we had a race there? A very competitive race for the top 3-4 cars I might add.

It was a Gr.4 race during 2021 season for RINSKY's league. Sadly the results page doesn't work anymore for that particular race. People making me have to dig through archives like that's what they are for.

Yeah we are running a lot more horsepower for this visit.

It was definitely on GTS, I don't think Rinsky was still racing with us though. If it flows poorly for a faster car I can't believe it would flow well for a slower car. If you are thinking HP is going to be a factor in this race you might wanna do some more testing but with less HP and scrutinize the results carefully. I learned a lot about excessive HP and it's effects on handling and lap times in that Supercar Series

For The Streets Of Willow Springs Forward or clockwise. The best places to try to pass are into turn 2 and turn 11. Once you get to a certain performance. The turn 1 as well as the turn 9 and 10 kinks become too dangerous to run 2 wide through. I know this from running some questionable races against AI there.

I've decided not to award the fastest lap point for race 2 at Special Stage Route X because I know some cars can't run 3 laps on fuel to have fair opportunity.

Should one not pick a car that can make an acceptable amount of pit stops to be competitive rather than just going for top speed??

I must assume cars with poor fuel efficiency will be used. Unless the difference in top speed is close. And I mean close enough that you can keep up the faster car by slipstreaming. Even which when pits stop happen you will likely lose touch with that faster. Probably come out right behind to watch them slowly drive away. In most cases top speed will beat fuel efficiency at SSRX.

Alright guys this is last set of races for 2025 Corvette Festival Fall League. And we end with a Corvette tuning challenge befitting of Gran Turismo games both past and present. See you guys tonight.

Hey guys I will be opening in about an hour. One more I want to bring to attention. Use of Nitrous is allowed for this week at least from my end in settings. However I noticed Gran Turismo didn't allow it's use for online practice. I'm guessing because practice times can effect starting positions if qualifying is not held. So I guessing it's not allowed for use in qualifying either. Now if isn't usable for the races either. Then I out of both answers and 100,000 credits per car.

This is a salute to the 1983 Nurburgring 1000km. This will be a half distance one-make race exclusively for the Porsche 962C '88. Who's early Group C predecessor the 956 still holds both the race and qualifying lap record at Nurburgring Nordschleife layout. Records that will likely never be officially broken.

This will be a non championship 22 laps race on the Nordschleife Nordschleife layout. With and estimated duration of 2 Hours 15 Minutes in dry conditions. Yes I'm aware the race distance is short of the advertised distance. The real race was only 44 laps. I did say I noted the lack of Nordschleife use complaint for the Group C league but, wanted to give the Porsche drivers time to rust. This will likely be the last event before the release of GT7 Spec 3.

Hey guys only 10 days left until we go howling through mountains and forests of the Nurburgring for 22 laps. The 690 hp 962C can complete 3 laps of Nordschleife in 20 minutes. Fuel and tire multipliers are relatively low to closer to the real range and to speed up to race a little bit by reducing the number of pit stops needed. It is possible to complete this race will just 2 fuel stops. However the tire wear balance is better than I expected. RMs should last a full tank but, you might not want to be on them that long.

Hey guys this Saturday is week out from our Nurburgring 500km Porsche 962C One-Make Special. I already have a pit strategy in mind. I have not settled on a setup yet. Trying to find a happy balance between getting the car to stick without too much drag for the long flat out sections. This might not be the last event of the year. I might host some prologue races for the upcoming 2 Hours Endurance Series to help get use to the new physics. Anyway here's a repost of the race details.

Hey guys only 4 days until Nurburgring 500km Porsche 962C One-Make Special! Also just 2 days away from US Thanksgiving. Our biggest food holiday of our year. A plus 2 hours race at race track with few straightaways for should make to burn off a few calories. Especially for the wheel drivers.

Only 3 days left until the Nurburgring 500km Porsche 962C One-Make Special. This might our last time in prototypes for a while. I don't have immediate plans to use them in the near future. I already plans ideas what I want to for the 2027 Endurance League. As well as a few options in mind for Fall Leagues. Yes yes I know. I should focus on this upcoming season 1st. I'm still waiting on this big update before finalizing the details.

Will we be able to adjust suspension or downforce with BOP on? I'm not sure why but this car seems to respond very slow to steering inputs, it takes me at least a lap to start getting used to it, I feel like I am always behind the car.

If mean for the Porsche Special. There is no BOP active. This will be the same regulations as Group C league. Exception it's for the Porsche 962C only. So stock power and weight. And you may upgrade to the cheaper Custom trans. The one next to LSD.

finally managed to complete a practice race with taking minimal damage. Very difficult. I will miss running the group c cars with you all but this is a great way to send it off.

After the last big update in the summer the other year all the Group C Cars default sets have a lot of rear wing. I think Gran Turismo felt they were to fast on straights. To me the took away their only tool against the modern prototypes and VGTs. I took off about 200 of whatever the downforce measurements from rear wing. I wouldn't do that much as a wheel driver though.
