I'm pretty new to this, but I'll try and help you out.

1. Try lowering your rear spring rate on your FD. I had a Spirit R Type A with the springs set at 10/15.0. It understeered a bit, and wouldn't turn in. I changed the rates to 13 in the front, and 9.0 or 9.5 in the rear. It was a big improvement. The higher rate in the front sharpened turn in, while the lower rear spring rate let the rear hunker down and provided more grip.

2. I might be reading this wrong, but are you sure the ride height is 45mm? Try keeping the car at least 10mm above the minimum, so that your suspension doesn't bottom out. On my original suspension-equipped Spirit R Type A, minimum ride height is 72mm. My ride height is 82/87.

3. Look into the bound and rebound settings. With your spring rates so high, they could probably stand to be changed from stock. If you look at the bottom of the settings screen, a message at the bottom says how, as a general rule, the bound value should be around half that of the rebound. In your case, try something like 5/4 for bound, and 9/8 for rebound. My Spirit R Type A has an original suspension, and is set on 8/8. FYI, a message scrolls by on all the different setting categories, and they can give you a few clues.

4. Your downforce could be a big source of your understeer. Just think about the values for a second. Your rear is being pushed down twice as much as your front. That actually means weight is being kept off of the front wheels. Less weight on the front wheels=less traction=understeer. Try putting front downforce at full. If you still have some understeer, try reducing rear downforce. My Spirit R Type A is set at 30/25, for example.

5. Out of curiosity, why are you running R2 tires? Aren't those Race Hards? I guess it depends on what you're using the car for. If you don't race with it in GT Mode, why not get some stickier tires? My Spirit R Type A has S3 Sport Soft tires, but that's because I'm trying to keep it a little more realistic(only has 383hp).

I hope this helps out a bit, until someone more experienced shows up.

Get rid of the VCD and LSD on your GTR and it will lap upto 1 second faster 👍

Thanks for the advice, i will look into some of the stuff.

Will give this a try thanks. [edit] Just given this a go, and im pleased to say that it has improved the car quite a bit, it has improved the times by at least 1sec.

My bad, i was been rushed yesterday, so i read the ride height wrong. they are set to, 74-74.

Ive equiped the car with the original suspention option, and this dosnt allow for the ajusting of Damper (Bounce side) and Damper (re-bound side).

Cheers will look into this too. [edit] Ive just set my settings for downforce to the same as yours 30 - 25 and it turned my beast in to an oversteering monster. 👎 so i have just set them to 15 - 30 and it has helped a little. i will keep playing around with them and see what i come up with. :)

Well i think that if you can get a car to handle extremley well on Hard race tyers, then as soon as you equip it with Super soft, then it will be out of this world. plus i plan on running the cars over long distance sprint races, as 3 to 5 laps isnt exactly realistic in terms of race laps. An average race takes about 20 at least so tyre wear is a concern.

Get rid of the VCD and LSD on your GTR and it will lap upto 1 second faster

Well i purchased the LSD but its been taken off, this has helped a little, and the VCD is a typo, there isnt one equipted.

Cheers for the tips, will post a progress report with the results. :)

Car name: Nissian Skyline GTR S-Spec
Base car: Nissan Skyline GTR V-Spec II

that pretty slow...

heres is some specs if my R32 GT-R V-spec II
Top Speed: 239mph
1/4 mile time: 0'8.104
(note: both records are archieved with same gearbox settings)

Probably coz he only has a Stage 3 Turbo..

Standard LSD is awesome on GTR's.. especially without the VCD..

GO THE ATTESSA!!

Yeh im only using Stage 3 turbo, and a Semi Racing exhaust, also im missing an option in the Engine tune up (cant remember which one) wich was worth another 20 odd BHP. Plus im not running super sticky tyers, so im not getting good traction either, so considering it not that bad of a time. and to quote Kaizen "Balance is infinitely more rewarding than Power"

Duno i will let you know if you want, the cars were tuned while i was using a DFP, but now im back on the crappy DS2, will post times soon :)

[edit]

Well ive just done some times on those tracks and here they are.

Tsukuba - 0'54.044

Fuji Speedway 80's 1'17.612
____________90's 1'26.653

Anyone will tell you that im not a good driver at the best of times so, these time i would expect ot be slow for the car, if anyone who is a good driver will post a time with these cars then please do. :)

Well anyone who has tested the settings above and liked them you will be glad to know that im in the process of tuning and setting up a Honda Integra Type R (DC5), and its running low 58's at Tsukuba. I will post the setting's here within the next few days, and please let me know if the setting above have improed your times, and im always open to sugestions for my S-Spec cars, and settings.

what tires are u using?

For the Integra?

Im using R2's for the skyline and the RX7 and R3's for the Integra. Its such a sweet car. Ive also just discovered that when using the DFP that ive been using it with some of the steering settings on Amature and power assit on, so i turned them off and set the steering to Simulator and now the FF cars are amaizing.

Bit of a bump as ive upded the first post with new charts and downloadable PDF files, also ive added the Integra specs too. hope you like and please post comments to help me further my tuning skills.

try putting the regular racing suspension on your integra, set the shocks to high bound/low rebound and see if it helps any.

you will especially notice a difference if you compare by using sports tires.

i also recommend that you try installing the customizable LSD and try high initial/accel settings (dont put any decel though)

Yeh i will give it a look cheers, the Integra at the moment runs low 58's at Tsukuba which aint that bad at all, but i will look int othe sugestions and post back if they help improve the times. cheers.

:) :D ;)

extremely nice, i love the presentation of the pdf's, very professional. as for the cars, im going to try the integra as they are my favourite car of the minute. amazing round tsukuba, especially with the dfp. have you tried both the dc2 type-r and the spoon integra type-r? the spoon is my favourite car yet, the sound of the engine is amazing.
