I always finish under 7th in s-10 but maybe I don't have the right tuning for the cars I try. I tried the clio that got me 2nd in s7 but its not gonna make it. I certainly am the fastest on the track, but if I go anymore aggressive then Ive been going I could spin out and blow it. But if I don't go aggressive and practically drift every corner I wont catch 3rd place.

I made a few attempts last night with my BNR. I don't remember the car I used when I earned the silver here. But, the best I could do was a 13th place finish. It was still fun to drive since I was working out the setup of the car in the process. I've finally come to a point with this car where I can set it up from scratch and make a decent run without too much time in the gravel.

Has anyone found a car that works really well here? I'd love to clear this one and get on to converting another silver or bronze to a gold on another event.

I think the question is who uses standard physics and who uses professional physics? Lap times will vary won't they based on your choice?

I can't help anybody with pro physics. I drive with standard physics.

I look at it like this... If you're determined to do it with pro physics then you've chosen the hard road and you just have to work until you get it.

As I've said this race can be beaten with many different cars in standard physics. I've listed the cars I have beaten it with. I happen to like the Clio T. I've posted my Clio tunes for all S-class races, and my GT LM tunes for S7 and S10 in my S-Class tunes thread over in the tuner forum.

If any of you want a S10 tune for a specific car I can give it to you. I've got S10 tunes for just about all cars that can beat the race.

I am in the same boat. I'm using professional physics. I need to check what my lap times are when i get home, but i've tried the Amuse s2000 and the Tuned clio, also the evo tuned. I can get into 12-10th but i can't seem to make up the last bit of ground. I definately need to work on getting through the last few turns before the straightaway. I haven't put as much time into it as i should, been addicted to the drifting, but tonite it's my goal to ATLEAST get a podium finish. Driving, even finishing higher up is still fun with the G25. I just hate how the AI has no regard that your car is there infront of them. If you're in their line and go too slow, it's contact time.

Just got 3rd with the Amuse 2000. It's a little prone to drifting but very controllable. The 7th gear comes in handy on the long straight especially if you're able to slipstream someone.

Try to overtake as many cars as possible on the first lap, otherwise the front pack will pull away too much. That's about the best advice I can give.

Ok, I'm about to pull the Obutto around in front of the big screen this morning and settle in for a few laps at S-10 and see if I can clear this bugger and convert the silver to gold. I'll follow s2k's advice and use standard physics.

Edit @ 9:40am: To track progress, here is the list of events I need to convert to gold medals this weekend in the S class events

S1-bronze
S2-silver
S3-silver
S6-bronze
S8-silver
S10-silver - First run with s2K's tuned clio came within 1.192 seconds of gold. This car likes to be tossed around in standard physics with this tune. Nice setup s2k.

I was trying to get gold on this (it's my last one left) and I tried numerous cars (Clio Tuned, Corvette Tuned, Amuse S2k, Mine's Skyline, and Blitz ER34) with no luck, then I decided to see how the GT-R would fare. Man, it's the fastest car I've tried through the corners, thanks to the ability to kick it out, yet keep it in control. Keep in mind I haven't won yet thanks to stupid decisions (urgency getting me penalties), but if my time keeps getting shorter (I think I'm about 9.5/10 seconds behind after first lap) as it is, then I could be in first pretty soon. This is with a DS3, keep in mind.

I have now posted S10 tunes for the following cars in my S-class tunes thread:

Amuse S2000
Blitz
Clio Tuned
Ferrari California
GT LM
GT-R
Mines
SRT10 Tunes
Z06 Tuned

In testing I got easy gold with all these tunes. Of course your driving style may be very different than mine, but these should at least be a starting point.

Best I've done so far on S-10 with the Clio is 2nd missing the lead by only .328 seconds. I'm going to try out the Ford GT just for the fun of it though. If I like the tune as much as I enjoyed the Clio tune, this oughta be fun.👍

I made a quick vid of an S10 run with the Amuse after work today. Somebody challenged whether or not I could get the lead on lap 3 as I say in previous posts. So here it is.

The run was a quicky. Not my best run for sure but here it is. Yeah, the vid quality is crappy.

OK after a bunch more testing I'm ready to say the Mines is now the best S10 car. It's really fast and handles great with the R1 tires. Very easy to drive. So give my Mines tune a try. :)

Earned the gold in the Evo-Nordwand run last night without much trouble at all. I noticed the times have been adjusted. Pre-update, gold was in the 1'13.00 range. Now, gold is around 1'1500 or something. That's a big difference, especially considering the physics change.

I have been without a PS3 for 6weeks so to get back in and find this after the updates is very disappointing. Part of the essence of the GT series for myself is getting gold on very hard licence tests, it means something outstanding. GT4 Mission 34 (US version) and this one are in that category.

IMO PD are taking something away from the game by doing this.

I remember when I done S 10 only 700pp & you could'nt even as much as nudge the AI cars without a penalty,or hit a curb too much get a penalty. Was helping a friend recently with race,so I tried it again 750pp & theres hardley any penaltys,so yeah you can win with controller. I use a wheel now but when i done it first time controller. You prob need to run 2.03s to 2.04s

I hear ya. I was trying like crazy to pass s-7 with the old 700pp update and couldn't fair better than 5th. Penalties were very tight. Big difference with Spec III.

Does difficulty = realism? Just because it's easier shouldn't mean that it's less real.

A valid question. So many who have never, and WILL never, turn a lap at Suzuka claim to know what a real car would feel like there.
