So, here it is.
Just write yourself up on the list, which, worth pointing out, is imaginary. 👍
Just kidding though, this is so we all could gather to a server and have a good time!

Cheers :D

I'm in, not set up my DFP yet but I've jst got the demo any of you guys want to race (and win) let me know.

can I join? I am not a very good driver
but I will try to brake earlier ok?

Suits me, I'm not that good either, I'm about 1'41 round Blackwood in the XTi or whatever it's called, that little hatchback one, I've raced people who get 1'37's consistently. I use the DFP and I think my setup is sound, I downloaded it off their forums.

I'm in. My username for LFS is Slicks, and my liscense plate changes frequently. I basically suck at this game, mainly because I am stuck with a keyboard for controls. I'll get something better......eventually.

I haven't played GT4 since I've tried this...

My username there is Carl, I usually drive an Orange/White car. I'm not very quick, but getting better, did my first laps below 1'31 today, obviously with the Turbo (personal best is 1'30.39 so far :D ), but I've seen guys lapping under 1'28, so there's a lot of room for improvement.

I've not raced anyone from GTP besides aoe_viruz thought (unless some of you have different names like I do). Perhaps it would be a good idea to make a short list of who's there, either in Zoxxy's first post or in a new thread.

Oh, and for those using a Logitech wheel, don't forget to separate the throttle/brake which are set on the same axis by default in the logitech driver settings. (obviously, don't use windows default drivers too)

Wow, I'm glad so many's catching up! Sorry to not update :P

We can add eachother at MSN, and have a group chat. I'll update it in the first post. :)

I've not touched GT4 either since setting up the DFP for LFS. I've not decided on a set username yet, but I've been using JDA Manc which I might keep, my number plate reads Top Manc.

About seperating the axis, I'm not sure what to do or to look for to do that. I've opened the device controler so you see a picture of the DFP and all it's functions, it shows the accelerator and brake pedals and what each one does. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do from there.

I only have a DF, not a Pro, and I'm on windows 2000, but most likely Logitech have set the same defaults for all their wheels drivers, for compatibility with most games.

In windows 2000, you have to go:

Control Panel -> Gaming Options -> Properties -> Settings -> uncheck "Combined Axis"

I guess you were one screen away (from the screen you were, just go in Settings)

I suggest you guys all get a 3rd pedal to use as manual clutch. Manual clutching is deffinatly faster than auto. Plus its fun healtoeing to keep revs up :) I just have My old DF and DFP plugged in. and use the pedal of the DF as clutch. :P. I think i'm gonna tie a stick to the old DF wheel and use it as a hand break. 👍

My name is gabkicks in LFS>

the Formula V8 cars in the full game are going to be pwnage. Its going to be like Formula Nippon. (slightly weaker cars than Formula 1)

Expect some insane battles.. :scared:

How about once or twice per week, we all get together on a selected server(s). As long as which server to meet at is posted in advance (a day or 2 perhaps), then people can gather there whenever they have time.

Good idea, I think it would be better to have our own server, since places are limited, and we could put a password to avoid wreckers (and there are a lot lately).

Anyone has a good pc/conn. to act as a server?
I have both, but since the PC is in the bedroom, It must often be shut down early.:indiff:

I don't think mines good enough to act as a server, but I'm well up for getting a race going as soon as.

Mine's probably good enough to be a server, but I am not on often enough, and it is not my personal computer, as it is shared by my family. My brother, in particular, complains like mad whenever the computer gets laggy.
I am also not completely sure of what my computer would be doing as a server, nor how to set up a server.

I didn't actually test different configurations, but something 2.5GHz/2500 or more with at least 512 MB with a 3Mbps DSL/Cable connection should do the job (good upload speed is what matters for the internet connexion, obviously)

For creating a new game you need to open the port 63392 on your firewall (this is the one by default), then go in "Create new game" in multiplayer, the rest is pretty straightforward, and there's menu help for each settings.

If you're not sure what it is, just go to www.whatismyipaddress.com

I'll do a test today with mine, and call it Montreal racing, I won't be present all day, just testing.

I have a 2.6GHz, 512MB of RAM, and currently well over 3Mbps. My wireless connection is 11Mbps. But I don't have a firewall. Does it need to be private?

Well I've never hosted a server before so I do not know if it will lag or not.
