Someone please tell me it isn't so!!!!! in the search to get the cars i loved on previous editions of GT I obtained the S2000 LM Racecar and to my dismal surprise it tuned out at 330hp. Does anyone know if this is correct or am I missing something?

Seems normal, I guess. There's never been a JGTC level S2000, for example, as far as I know.

Haven't looked into that one in GT5, but seems about right based on older GTs, that an S2000 LM racer would have that power.

Well on previous installments of Gran Turismo it produced in the middle 500hp range. And, realistically if the car produces 250hp stock and you skip tuned and go straight to LM series race car you would think that it would have an overall increase of more than 80 BHP.

It only weighs about 1000kg if that, and handles superbly. Take it to a track with Racing Softs and it will suprise you.

The "LM Racecar" thing in GT doesn't really correlate with any real world race specs. All the race cars the PD team design themselves seem to get this generic name.

Well I've owned it in every edition of GT that it's been available. I KNOW it's a great car. I could have swore in the previous editions it had more hp

S2K LM was 320hp right after purchasing in GT4. How many did it have when you bought it here?

I may have to go knock the dust off 1,2,3, & 4 to convince myself :D

Well i got it on trade and it has 330hp fully tuned. Changed oil and did an engine overhaul. Still 330hp

Now those specs are the ones that seem weird... ;)

In GT3 it was that powerful, but in GT5 it mantains the GT4 specs.

I don't find that odd at all. If your referring to an LM race car which I understand about your point with PD just naming it that for names sake but think about this. A car that has 250HP stock and redlining a 4cyl at a mind boggling 10K. At full tune if money were no object? Come on, lol surely you don't think in terms of a 90 hp gain do you? :)

The Altezza LM and the Impreza LM also seemed to have had huge power in GT3, but the Razo Silvia was in the 330 hp range.

I mean they were cranking 1000HP+ out of the Wankle rotary engine in the early 90's.

Yeah I got that Razo today and was a little disappointed in it as well.

The S2000 LM is 2.0l NA engine running at 12500rpm. Do you really expect it to produce more than 600hp?

Any real world race car that has 500-600 hp power, or even 400, in many cases, has almost nothing to do with the street car it looks like. Race cars are not tuned street cars, they are custom built from the ground up.

So yeah, in the real world you could build a 600 hp race car to look like an S2000, just as easily as anything else.

At 330hp, though, it seems more likely to be something actually based on a road car.

Lol, well i don't know where you got those specs but no stock S2000 that I've ever drove would turn those kinds of RPM's.

I agree Kaa, but thats just it. Whether it was invented for GT by PD as a race car or if one really exists somewhere the 600hp is very realistic for that car. I mean what was the CRX a 1.6? It was turning 500+hp 20+ years ago tuned.

I drove that car in GT4 like 10000 kms. It reds at 12.3k rpm. The S2K LM I mean.

Yeah, but creating a race car is more than just tuning the hell out of an engine. So the 330 hp sounds very reasonable to me. But the 600 hp version is not impossible, either.

Well tuned to the max I see your point. I've drove a few real ones and never seen one turn more than 10K. I thought you were referring to a stock one. ;) matter of fact my last toy was almost one but at 6'2" I just couldn't do it! :D So, I wound up buying a 04' G35 Aero Coupe

wow Ruffo just noticed where your from. I so want to visit there.
