In it's day, from 1956 to 1960, this 748cc two stroke triple powered car did exceptionally well in motorsport, both in rallies and on the track including 12th overall at Le Mans in 1959. Being two stroke powered it lacked torque at low revs so its Scandinavian drivers including Erik Carlsson pioneered the left foot braking technique - this enabled them to keep the revs high by pressing the throttle and brake simultaneously.

Erik Carlsson sadly passed away in 2015, but this car could be a fitting tribute to one of the world's greatest drivers.

Below, photos from Le Mans in 1959 where the car came 12th overall and 2nd in the GT750 class.

Yeah, Saab 93 is a nice car, so you have my vote on this beauty Sick Cylinder :) I have suggest the GT750 a while ago , the sportiest version of the Saab 93 :)

Here's how the car looks if it earlier than 1957

@Aero2000 - I have amended the title to 1959 - that's the year the car achieved its success at Le Mans.

In 2008 a replica of the 1959 Le Mans car was raced in the Le Mans Classic - the clip shows onboard footage from that event. Note it is loud, but magnificent!
