I was shocked, such a nice man had died in a horrible way. I knew him personally, him being a student of my mum. I remember going with my mum on an educational-research trip about two years ago, a nice man. He even lent me his motorbike, which was the first time I rode one myself.

He made the ultimate sacrifice by jumping into the raging current, and managed to save a few of the girls, before he himself got dragged down :nervous: A hero, and an example for all people.

The four girls (all between 14-15) also had a bright future for them, they wouldn't have thought the field trip would turn out like this for them :(

Facebook group: In the loving memory of the lives lost at Hiriya School's field trip.

While it might not be considered thread/news-worthy compared to what occurs worldwide, it came as a huge shock for our whole country. Thousands of people went to see their faces (per Islamic custom), from which I returned from just now.

I really hope more safety measures are taken in the future, to prevent tragedies like this from being repeated.

May Allah SWT bless their souls, Amin.

Innalillah...

He passed away with a good will of trying to save someone. He will be remembered for his brave action and willing to risk his life for it. May Allah S.W.T. bless their souls, Amin...

The story is very confusing, but I was able to get little more info here.

Regardless of minor details, it sounds very tragic. He indeed does sound like a true hero, and IMO, he made a very honorable decision to save as many he can, maybe all of the girls, even if it cost him his own life.

May their souls rest in peace.

Thank you for the link, though they've messed up the principal's name, it should be Ali Nazim :irked:

And thanks for the well-wishes everyone, I did manage to go to the funeral. Hundreds of people were there, and for the Namaz-e-mayyit.
