..Myself, being a newbie at drifting, have a few newbie drifter questions.
First of which is: Is it at all possible to have good, or at least decent drifts using the analog controller? I have a wheel, but its not my style.
Second, and last is: Does anyone have any good Skyline R34 VspecII Drift setups? I'm stubborn and won't switch my Skylines for anything..So just thought I'd ask.

Of course it's possible to drift with analog, I use it.

As for drift settings, I don't have any for a GT-R, but I'll give you some tuning pointers for any car.

Make the rear spring rate softer

Lower the car

Lighten the car

2 way LSD or RWD, Custom for 4WD

Add camber

Other than it's ALL PREFERENCE.

i have a wheel that i use for drifting, my tip to you is that you get really good at drifting and then start learning how to drift with the wheel.

i have a wheel...and I used to play GT3 with the analog playing grip style. I got the wheel and then discovered drifting from GTP and I've been drifting with the wheel for 5 months now. I attempted using the analog to drift but I find it very difficult to do once I've gotten used to the wheel. I recommend learning the wheel. The benefits are that you will have more control over sensitivity like trottle pressure and steering positioning.

I have a a DualShock2 controller & still use the D-Pad. However u feel comfortable drifting den drift away. Oh & dem tips above are a great help. Thanks loadz. Ama try it now wit ma R34 GT-R Vspec
and when am done if it drifts sweetly enough i can give u some settings.

try thios ,nighmage ,bustwave & my setup ( at drift setting depot )then try drift with it
thios with SIM & mine was s.soft front & slick rear ...ok :)
than closed the gear auto to 20-23 ...have fun ...:)

All i can say about the analog is that its good for when you feel youre about to spin out completely and decelerating is no longer an option, it seems to give a quicker response then the D-pad..or maybe its just me. also with the quick steering response, you have the advantage of shifting the car's weight a lil faster. or maybe i have a bum dualshock 2 :indiff: its been through alot.

Wow, this thread brings back memories..... I haven't seen Lan Evo for ages, and Xzift only really posts in a few threads now.....

;)

Well at least FDracin is using the search button and not starting new pointless threads I guess... :dopey:

Yep, there's a great point to that. Not to long ago, there was a guy that started 5 threads in about 5 minutes. So yeah, anyone that actually uses the search to get old stuff is better then starting a new thread on old stuff!

Yes it is very possible, but i recomend you learning with a wheel. you will soon see that the wheel gives you so much more control over your car.

Check out the Drift Settings Depo , for your skyline drift settings.

Keep Drifting

how the hell can u say a wheel is not ur style when ur playing a racing game?? thats like playing time crisis and saying a lightgun is not your style :dunce: The wheel is much easier to drift w/ once you get used to it.

The date of post was 7/xx/03...

Since then I've stopped drifting, and in general stopped playing GT3...

And I did buy a wheel. I'm pretty sure some of my old videos are posted around here.
