I'm new to this site but glad to see that there are other GT3 nuts out there! I just want to know if anyone else is AS mad as me and has done what i have... (its probably been flogged to bits anyway)
I've bought every one of the standard road cars(i.e. no race spec cars) and tested their straight line performance over the kilometre against the real car and modified them until its the same as printed in its AUTOCAR magazine roadtest. I now have a full garage of cars that perform exactly the same as they should (0-60mph, 0-100mph, standing 1/4 mile, standing kilometre) and i've noticed a lot of trends. All front wheel drive cars perform WAY slower than their real life counterparts. They need at least another 15% power to bring them into line AND most need super soft racing tyres to get off the line fast enough. Nearly ALL cars need a modified flywheel of some sort and most front wheel drivers need a triple clutch too.
I think its silly that a game this advanced and, well, near perfect to an accurate simulation has cars that perform so differently to real life. All those people out there wont know whats really fast and whats really slow. I hope that the cars in GT4 perfom exactly as they should and (if the lists of cars i've seen is true) cant wait to get to grip with some of the most famous british hot-hatches in history. I'm just glad that all of the cars are slower so you can make them faster cos you cant make them slower!
Sad...
If you thought that was sad hear this! I drive a mk1 1990 1.6 mx5(miata/roadster) when i have to face reality and go out(!). I am an absolute car nut and will race ANYTHNG that comes near me. When i get beaten (quite normal strangely...) by a car that is featured on GT3 i then test my car against it and see how much extra bhp i need to beat it! LOL.
Well now you all know, rip me apart!
