This game is full drop in drop out co-op campaign with everything that was missing from the GTA4 campaign. You can buy clothes, jewelry, completely customize your character top to bottom, buy cars from car dealerships, buy bikes from bike dealerships, buy houses just like in Vice City and San Andreas, customize your house, parachute, drive monster trucks, car surf, fly a helicopter, and much much more all with a co-op partner. Every mission every level everything is all co-op. We flew the helicopter for the first time last night and it has a lock on rocket launcher. Your co-op partner shoots while you drive. I cant wait to save up and buy my first cars and my first property then customize them. Which I could not do in GTA4. The graphics are toned down a little from the first game but the gameplay more than makes up for it. I haven't played the multiplayer yet buy holy crap the co-op campaign is awesome!! It also looks like it will be at least 100 hours long to finish all the side missions and everything in this co-op campaign.
Edit: I also forgot to mention that you can hold people as human shields just like in GOW2.
Edit2: Another feature I forgot. You can pick up any object you see laying around the map and use it as a weapon or throw it at people.

You are both going to be very happy. I also forgot to mention that you can hold people as human shields just like in GOW2. Then after they get shot enough they fall down. I just cant even remember all the features in this game.

That is class! I cant wait to see the car modifications available even if they are silly it will still be fun!

I cant even express how much I love this game. It might finally and truly be the ultimate sandbox game. Anything you ever wanted from the GTA series is all in this game and you get to do it as a co-op. Heather and I spent over 3 hours just doing the car hyjack missions. This is where you have a car list and you have to drive around trying to find the listed vehicles. We got through 2 full lists of cars. I even saw a monster truck driving through one of the trailer parks.
I am not sure how many total hyjack missions there are but we currently have 4 lists of cars we are working on getting and some of them have huge rewards. Enough rewards in fact that I bought my first house last night and installed stripper poles, a pool table, and a 50" plasma screen. Plus it was loaded with homies and a helipad on the top where I can store a helicopter!!!!! There was also some zombie mini game but it was an actual full game where you have to kill zombies.
I LOVE THIS GAME!!

A lot of the cars and such look really crappy in terms of details & looks, but if the mini games spawn as far as zombies, and you can do them online, seems like it's worth a rental. Does it have a free roam online mode like GTA?

I was talking about the co-op campaign. Yeah the graphics have been toned down a notch but its full co-op campaign so it makes sense. I will take this amazing gameplay over graphics anyday. I havent even touched the multiplayer yet. The co-op campaign will keep us busy for at least 100 hours. There is more to do then I can even comprehend. I believe the story takes about 20+ hours and to get through all the side missions is around 100 hours.

I'll be buying this as I preferred even the first Saint's Row to GTA4. I knew the sequel was going to be big, and it looks like it's living up to the hype.

We simply could not put this game down at all over the weekend. I am now convinced this is THE best sandbox game I have ever played. I am also surprised how good the story is. The full co-op campaign is what really sets this game apart from the rest. This is actually what GTA4 should have been. I just cant believe how many different activities there are in this game. We now own jets, helicopters, boats, many houses and properties. Also found 2 fight clubs last night and beat one of them. The septic missions and insurance fraud missions were a blast.
As you progress you can also customize the way your entire gang looks and how all the gang vehicles look. My gang members are all pimps and hoes.
We are having a glitch problem with one mission that we cant pass. Its a mission where crack heads are attacking while he is loading 12 boxes. Well he never loads the last box and the game never continues. So far thats the only major problem we have had.
The multiplayer also isnt too bad at all. Lots of different game modes to play.
Here are some of my stats. Should be fairly accurate and I will get pics by tomorrow.
Game Progress: 52%
Game Time: 26 Hours
Current cash: $129,000

Am I correct in that the co-op campaign is only over Live (or system link)? I was under the impression that you could play together on one console, but it doesn't seem that way.

Oh well. With online-/link-only co-op I doubt this game will hold my attention for long, but it'll be a fun rental. After a night of play, it's not quite the GTA4 killer I expected -- the vehicles are more controllable yet uninspiring to drive, there are small glitches everywhere (from hitting a bump in the road and stopping instantly to warping into a vehicle from over 10 feet away), it seems almost impossible to die in a gunfight (normal difficulty), and the stores/locations are so scattered that even Metroid Prime 2's backtracking made more sense (this point isn't helped by the small and hard-to-decipher map icons). To top it all off, almost all of the neat features this game has over GTA4 first appeared in either Vice City or San Andreas.

If I had never played the original GTA3 trilogy, I would probably be all over this game. Unfortunately, there aren't enough new things to maintain my interest.

I'm trying to decide whether to get Saints Row 2 or Tomb Raider Underworld. How far does the house and vehicle customization go in this?

Saints Row 2 is a must buy for sure. I am still loving this game. The vehicles have more customization then I can even list. The houses have a lot of customization too.

Saints Row 2 > GTA4 by a long shot! The story is way more interesting (I actually watch all the cut scenes). And theres a million more things to do when you're bored. Too much to list.

The funniest thing to me so far is killing people, and then bringing them back to life with the shock paddles. The Stun gun is awesome too!
If you were the least bit upset with GTA4 get this game.

I forgot all about the shock paddles. I need to get a set of those and use them on someone. Didnt realize you could bring someone back from the dead with them. lol

Yea, you get them after you finish the paramedic missions.
Oh dang I forgot about all those other side missions too like the paramedic, taxi, police, fireman, and any others I forgot. I still have a long way to go in this game. I still think for me to finish all the side missions and everything else in this will take at least 75 hours. I already have over 30 hours with a long way to go.

Yea, ive finished the Ronin and Sons of Samedi, but im stuck on a brotherhood mission. The one where you have to kill them on the ship, I always fail on the third wave.

Are you playing with a co-op partner or alone? I honestly cant imagine anyone playing this alone because it is a blast as a co-op campaign. If you are playing alone you are missing out on one really fun experience.

Yea i have been going alone so far, only one of my friends have it
Aww no way that sucks. Leave your room open since its a drop in drop out campaign and see if anyone will help you. Or add me and I can help you. There is no reason to play this awesome game alone. If you want to play a sandbox style campaign game along go play GTA4. :sly:

Sounds good, ill send a request 👍

I was walking on the street doing holdup side missions and one of the pedestrians said this out of nowhere.

"I dont imagine drowning in your own ballsweat would be pleasant".:lol: I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard.

Volition have revealed that three new pieces of downloadable content are on their way to the 360 & PS3.
The first is called "Ultor Exposed", and will be out on April 16. It will include three new missions, a new co-op game mode where you score points for carnage, and a few new maps, vehicles and weapons. Alien suit, Tera Patrick as homie with her temptres car, new air vehicle and more.

Ultor will be 800 MS Points/USD$10

I will be buying this for sure. SR2 is still the best sandbox game I have ever played.

Here are some pics of the new vehicles in the DLC.

April 23rd DLC huge disappointment!!!
This might be the worst DLC I have purchased which really frustrates me to say that because I love this game so much!
I have been supporting this game since it came out but this DLC was a huge disappointment. We were able to get through the 3 missions in only an hour. I guess we can try the meta games and try more of the online multiplayer. Maybe that will add more replay value but at this point the campaign DLC was a huge disappointment. I am not sure if there is more to it or if we missed something but at this point I would not recommend this DLC to anyone. I am so disappointed I might even get rid of my SR2 gamerpic.
They seriously need to make the next DLC free to make up for this. I feel ripped off big time. :grumpy:
