Saloon Grand Tour

1) Is anyone interested in this?

I have thought up the Saloon Grand Tour (SGT), an online racing series centered around 4-door touring cars. The general restrictions would be:

• Car must be a 4-door saloon
• Displacement must not exceed 3000 cc
• Cars are somewhere shy of 300 hp, like 270-290 (I'm still determining this)
• Cars are to weigh no less than something like 1100 kg (again, still figuring this one out)

There are few more rules on things such a body mods and other nonsense, but what is shown above is the real gist of SGT. With up to 14 cars per race, it would be an exciting touring car series that focuses on building/tuning your car.

Don't ask about the time/date yet. I know it's a big determining factor, but I just want to see if the general community is interested. Time/date will be decided by the co-manager (if I get one).

So, again, this is no sign up. I just want to how good this sounds to the GTP community.

2) I need someone to oversee the races.

I have always wanted to run an online racing series, but the one thing that has kept me from doing so for so long is my schedule. I can do all the online work that is necessary, but I can't commit to hosting a race at a specific time once a week. However, I came up with the idea that I could work with another person to make my dream possible: I could have a "co-manager" of a sort, someone who would host the races. Splitting up the responsibilities, sort of. I have thought this out a bit, and ideally, the co-manager would:

• Work with the participants to determine what is the best time/day to race
• Host the actual races
• Make sure everyone participating follows the rules (races clean, uses the right car, etc.)
• Take some photos of the race (if convenient)
• Send me the result of each race
• Help with some of the general administrative duties

Now, of course, the duties of the co-manager could be changed, modified, and such to your liking, as long as I have no objection. For example, I would like to choose the race locations, but the co-manager could help determine the number of laps for that race. I don't see the co-manager as a burdensome role; if I had all the time in the world, I'd love to host the races myself.

So if you think you'd be willing to help SGT happen, drop a post here. :) It'd truly be wonderful if someone was interested. If no one does, I can't be fully sure that SGT would take off at all.

Thanks, and cheers!
