Hi, I have a 4GB Sansa disk MP3 player and it works great.
But when ever I make a folder on a PC and put it into the Sansa, it sometimes puts the songs into the "unknown" folder, or just makes different folders if I have remixes.
I'll put song A-Z in a folder, but when I turn it on it'll be half in the remixed folder and half in the normal.
Any suggestions?

Ah this issue brings back memories of using older mp3 devices. It's likely the software on your mp3 player is sorting them not through the given filename, but through the internal data of each mp3 file. I'm assuming you're using Windows, and what you can do is go to the properties of any mp3 file, click on the "Advanced" button under the "Summary" tab. There you will find a bunch of slots you can edit such as Artist Name, Album, Year, Song title, etc.

Some mp3 players look for the names here and not the file name you see in your explorer window as that's merely for you to arrange at your own leisure for computer-use.

As for why it's relocating some songs to a different folder, try playing around by making other folders and moving songs in there and seeing if those get moved. Maybe it's certain .mp3 files the player can't communicate with properly.

A folder for any of the Sansa players should just be called "MUSIC". Then you can sort it in there. Just from experience having 4-5 different Sansa players.

The beauty of plug&play technology is that it is super super easy to manipulate and comprehend if you understand root directories, which you probably do since you're using a computer.

That's the problem, I put it in the way I want it and it redos it the way it wants to.

Strange, I can't find advanced or summary under the MP3 properties.
I am alright with computers, do you think it might be that I'm using a school computer?

Yeah, it's reading the ID3 tags, not the .mp3 file name. There might be a setting somewhere that changes this, but if it annoys you enough you can just Rockbox it, as I'm pretty sure it's able to view files by folder structure.

The Rockbox requires the original Sansa files (Or it might have said firmware).
Thanks for the tips everybody, will continue trying.
