GT was all about earning the cars you wanted, its even ruined the used car lot now because will be just be able to get any car you want whenever you want. crap is what it is

I have a big problem with this. 👎

GT is about driving and racing the cars you wanted. Yes, it is fun to collect a big garage and there is a lot of pride to be had by looking at which rare cars you've come to own, what customization you've managed to do, etc. But to say that GT was all about earning cars is a pretty extreme--and sad--statement.

Cars are meant to be driven, pictures are meant to be looked at. Play the game the way you like to play it. Life is too short to throw a fit about what other people do in their leisure time.

This is why we can't have nice things..

Anyways I'm very happy with the save data being unprotected so I can copy it on to a usb. I hope they don't take this away cause people are cheating too much. :(

Personally I would not cheat to get high performance cars, you are just spoiling the game for yourself. The car you earn, or the gold trophy that you get from hard work feels much better than the one you get from cheating.

It is like you are cheating yourself out of the gameplay, why buy a game that you don't want to play?

Like many have said before me, not everyone has unlimited time each day to grind their way into unlocking a car the "legit" way. Some people like to try cars out. Where was everyone's hate of cheaters when gameshark and codebreaker were available to unlock everything instantly and enable you to create "hybrids" (cars that used different attributes from other cars, such as a S2000 with AWD). I think the non-"cheaters" just feel like they've wasted so much time to get a car that someone else can get whenever they want. Play the game how you want and stop spending all your time on forums complaining how others choose to play their game.

Exactly 👍

The beauty of GT5 is that it can be many things to many people. Photomode, online head to head, online time trials, Drifting, drag racing, B-Spec, A-Spec, etc, etc...

As long as an exploit doesn't come around that affects the legitimacy of the leaderboards or online racing, I really don't care how many cars/credits you have or how you got them. All I care about is if I'm faster than someone with equal equipment, it's primarily a racing game :gtpflag:

When FM3 launched one of the good things about it was that (credits allowing) all cars were unlocked/visible from the beginning.

That, coupled with a rigourous anti-cheat routine, stopped a lot of save-duping.

It was clear (I'm on record on this very forum saying it) that unlocking save-copying would lead to this, and it has.

Of course, it's none of my business how other people play the game that they paid for... but when we all take part in the same community 'game' of trading and racing I think it DOES have a knock on effect.

Effectively those who seek the rewards of an artificial advancement through the game are participating in that global game using unfair rewards. I doubt I'll ever cry myself to sleep about it but I'm well aware that people play competitive games to win. Being beaten by someone who's exploited rules or methods is much worse than being fairly beaten.

I don't think this will be much of a problem.

Online races can be restricted. Also if people are just given cars they prob will not know how to drive them well anyway.

I don't condone cheating at all, but PD spent some time thinking about this.

The new season races are very specific.

I only play online with friends so that isn't much of an issue, we have gentlemens agreements with HP

How does someone having an X2010 or any car gifted to them from other people do that?

Well, look at it this way. If they would manage to make the car trading watertight, that would result in the rare cars being traded on e-bay. I suspect polyphony would be much more upset at people selling cars for real money, than with the situation as it is now.

And it does say "Gift" when sending cars to people. Perhaps the idea was never to trade cars in the first place.

I don't see how exploiting the save can give you multiple anything. Not without a lot of time wasting anyway. All you can do is "retrieve" a car you just gifted.

Point 1: Getting duplicate cars easily isn't cheating. Not any more than grinding B-Spec is cheating. Getting duplicate X1s from other people isn't cheating either. It's just lucky.

Point 2: We don't need another thread about Save Data Duplication... not one where people will take potshots at other people for exploiting yet another game loophole, and other people will take potshots at those people for complaining.
