Save feature coming soon?

Is it just pure rumors that there is coming a save option in-game on endurance events? or is it for real? if so, when??

I'm lvl 39 a-spec now and I still haven't done 24h Le Mans, so I started a couple of days ago with pausing it every night. Yesterday I had completed the first 9 hours. But apparently my dad thought that the ps3 was a bit noisy, so he turned it off. With this I have to start over and he is probably just going to do it again, specially with in mind that it's very hard to argue with him.

The way I see it, I'll never be able to complete the 24 hour without any sort of save feature.
 
im in the same boat as you, but only rumors as of now. no confirmation from PD yet..... 👎

Kazunori Yamauchi confirmed via Twitter early this morning that “game saves during endurance races” are currently “under development” for Gran Turismo 5.

This was posted by GTPlanet the 1st of march, how long is it going to take to develop this?

Don't forget the earthquake and tsunami that happened in Japan most likely put a delay on the process.
 
"Under development"... but that can take a long time, just look at GT5's development time ;)
 
first the PSN must be saved!
 
It is under development. But it isn't very easy saving right in the middle of a race, and then just picking it back up afterwards... plus, of course, the hackers, and the natural tsunamies and earthquakes Japan is facing. However, it should hopefully be here soon.
 
I'm in the same boat man I'm dying for these saves to come along I cbf playing for hours.

As was mentioned before, that feature is confirmed to be in the works, but they haven't released a timeframe. Ergo, any guessing would be just that - guessing. You can hope for sooner rather than later, but there's still the PSN outage to slow things down and PD still has Euro GT Academy, not to mention that they are working on a new game to be released in two years.

No, don't ask me for specifics on the upcoming project. Google it if you want rumors.

People keep using the earthquake and tsunami as excuses for progress to be slowed or development delayed, but really it shouldn't be. It's not as though the entirety of Japan was leveled by the quake or inundated by the tsunami. These were localized events, not something that knocked the whole nation into the dark ages.

Understandably, I’ve received questions from many other fans concerned about the safety of Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital. Fortunately, Kazunori tweeted not long after the event to report no major damage or significant injuries at either of the company’s studios.

Although things reportedly got pretty scary in Tokyo where Polyphony is headquartered, most of the severe devastation is concentrated in northern Japan.

Japan is used to dealing with earthquakes and tsunamis. Heck, the term "tsunami" is Japanese. The skyscrapers seen swaying in Tokyo were designed to do that so that they don't fall apart during an earthquake. They don't shut down the entire country because certain areas were battered.

Did the entire US shut down when Katrina flooded New Orleans? Did the problems in New Orleans halt all production across the entire US? Of course not. Unaffected areas kept right on doing what they always do.

Did Katrina shut down 2/3rds of the shipping ports in the country, like the Japan disaster? Were most of the trucks and major roads in the northern half of the country wiped out? Did Katrina make everyone within 1,000 miles fearful of radiation poisoning? Katrina was a one region disaster. This Tsunami affected 1/3 of their country. They are on a bit of a different scale.
