Saving Endurance Races?

weather you can or cannot save in a endurance races seems like one of those things no one will ever know for sure untill its released.
It says in the PSW review that you can so i hope thats right

According to Amar (and he is very reliable) it would seem that saving has NOT been implemented for the PAL version.

It's no surprise the magazines are wrong! I very much doubt that they even bothered to check- probably just assumed.

okay, right now.. im playing the 24hr. nur enduro hoping to win the PD f1 car. so far im 4hrs and 9mins in the game with 28 laps. THERE IS NO SAVE OPTION DURING PIT STOPS! the pit stop on the enduro races are just like on the regular race.. theres the option for tires, fuel, and switching between a and b spec modes.

i plan to put the race in b spec mode overnight. (with the 3x time advance) will i awake the next morning and find my ps2 fried?

Yeah, there is NO save option like milhouse83 said. and if you leave your game in b-spec mode with the 3x time advance, after first pitstop time advance will be normal if you dont change it back to 3x...

ya, that pisses me off. You have to keep putting it into 3x after every pit stop in b-spec mode. What the hell is that all about.

So your telling me that I have to sit there for 8 hours and direct the guy in the pits.... or do the 24hr race yourself or with friends... etc. thats basically the bottom line. SO EVERYONE STOP *****ING AND DO THE DAM THING :grumpy:

OK. It seems that the "save" option only appears in the 24hr races based on the different threads posted here. For the shorter races, saving does NOT seem possible. SO, the answer would be yes AND no. Yes, you can save on 24hr races, and no, you cannot on shorter ones. My .02 :)

For the guy above me. :indiff:

i left my few month old slimPS2 on for about two weeks straight since gt4 has been released, and it is tip top. My old first gen ps2 has taken the same beating, and it lived until san andreas wreacd havoc on it. Just make sure it's in a ventilated area and the room temperature doesn't get over 80 often, and you should be cake. This is just personal experience, so i assume no responsibility or liability. bewm.

liquid cooling! I dont have it on mine...yet but in the near future it may happen. I leave my ps2 on for weeks on end (i have an old one 2 years old) and i just left it go. since i got gt4 its been turned off once and im 24.9% complete(close to endurances) so just leave it on if it breaks it breaks get a new one if it overheats a freezes start again its only 24hours be a man not a flower 24hours is piss easy. now if only they made it decent so you dont lap the second guy by the fourth lap...i would find it better if you were competing with number 2 for 24hours non stop for the lead. you would concentrate more and screw up more

i've had my ps2 bout 2 years now and i just started the 24 hour endurance . i'm really concerned its gonna die. i'm pretty sure u can't save either unless theres some hidden option

AFAIK there is no save option, when i saw that i just b-spec'd the whole Nürb 24hour race... funny thing is... I watched a movie, so unplugged my PS2 Pal, and plugged my NTSC X-Box and every ten minutes I'd Press R1, then L1+=>... I don't know what happened by my dork driver spent 78 minutes in the pits lol.. Still caught those guys up after something like 40-50 laps...

Got no time to do a 24hour race with my old PS2 on. Easy thing to do is to study and leave B-spec on, and every ten minutes or so, just speed the time up...

I've been following the discussion on the 24h Nurburgring Endurance Race. It seems for the moment that nobody has found out how to save the game during the race (while pitting for example).

This seems really incredible to me: it cannot be that you're supposed to run races of more than 6 hours in one time without the possibility of saving it.

Has someone the right answer to this question? Or has someone discovered how to do it?

B-Spec mode because the computer never gets tired, never needs breaks between races, and can race as long as you wish! This is my way of beating Nurburgring 24 Hours Endurance: Get a fast car, go into B-Spec mode, put it on x3 - my pace, overtake. Leave it over night, and the next day, you will have hopefully beaten Nurburgring 24 hours, gotten lots money, and have won the 2004 Polyphony Formula Gran Turismo F1 Car!

I dont see why so many people have a problem with leaving your PS2 on b-spec while you go to work, school, or sleep. If you dont have time to do 24hrs of racing and you swear to never use b-spec well thats just too bad. If sony didnt include b-spec you would still be just as screwed.

haha good point :D

(Little question outside the topic but doesn't need a new topic...
: can you do races in arcade mode to increase your %age? If yes which ones?
thx)

There is NO saving during any race! I repeat! NO saving during ANY race!

So four pages of questions with no one listening to answers? LOL.

Alright, heres what im doing:

I turned my PS2 on this morning at 12:30. Its now 4 hours and 45 minutes later. The race is on b-spec tripplespeed, and it is now at 12hours. Thats 50%. So it will take another 4hours and 45 minutes. You cant save so it has to go on. But in 3 hours im leaving, I will be back tomorrow morning at 04:00. So then it has finished in one-speed. Then my PS2 was turned on for about 15,5hours or something. That won''t kill your PS2. So just play!!

(I got an old model PS2 by the way!!!)
