CAUTIONS RULES:
  • ONLY MULTI-CAR accidents will bring out the caution.
  • Single Spins WILL NOT BRING OUT THE CAUTION. Be fore warned. If you are NOT endangering other drivers, a caution will NOT come out for you.
  • When you spin [single car], move as best as you can off the racing line.
  • A competition Yellow will come out every 10 laps.
  • Cautions Last 2 Laps. Example, if the caution comes out on lap 3, then we take the green flag going into lap 5.
  • When there are 3 laps to go, and if a caution exists; the feild will be required to enter a RED FLAG state. The field will remain in a red flag state until all other drivers are caught up.

RULES
GENERALLY, THESE ARE THE RULES WE WILL BE FOLLOWING. PLEASE READ UP!

CLEAN RACING or you are out. The only time you should be touching another car is in the straights, other than that give each other LOTS of room to race. Failure to comply to these rules, and you will be asked to leave.

A. COMMUNICATION

  • A headset is strongly recommended
  • No cursing, racism, bathroom humor, or innuendos of any kind is allowed over the radio or in text form through the PSN or GTPlanet at any time. This includes shortcut words like STFU or WTF.
  • Flaming is not tolerated in open or public. Debate the incident in a civilized manor but do not flame the other driver.
  • During the race keep communication light and strictly to issues concerning the race.
  • Communication is to be kept silent during qualifying sessions.
  • Keep off-topic (non GT5/race related) chatter to a minimum

B. GENERAL ON TRACK BEHAVIOR

  • You must bring your car to a stop either in the pits or on a safe place on the track before exiting the vehicle using ingame options.
  • Reversing or driving backwards on track for a period longer then needed to recover from an incident is forbidden.
  • Making donuts or standing stationary and spinning your tires is forbidden in every session.
  • You are not allowed to park your car anywhere on track.
  • Intentional wrecking of any kind is not allowed, even between two consenting parties.

C. PIT STOPS

  • Each track has a pit lane speed. You must reduce your car's speed to the speed limit by the time you enter pit road.
  • Do not merge onto the track until the backstretch at Daytona Speedway, Twin Ring Motegi, and Texas
  • If possible, do not slow down for the pits while on the racing line.
  • When exiting the pits pay attention to any merging lines on the track. Watch out for other cars already up to speed when exiting the pits.
  • Do your best to alert those around you of your intention to pit. If you have a headset alert those around you about your intention to pit. Ex: "Car 24 pitting this time"

I. RACING

  • Bump drafting the car ahead of you at a sensible speed is allowed on the straights, but is strictly prohibited in the turns.
  • Any kind of contact while cornering is strictly prohibited.
  • "Bump and Run" techniques are strictly prohibited.
  • If you are about to be lapped by the leader keep sensible in your driving. If you are considerably off the pace or damaged it would be better to just move out of the racing line and give plenty of room to the leader or other leading cars.
  • You are not allowed to intentionally wreck anyone, even in practice sessions.
  • Certain ovals have an "out of bounds" line. You are not allowed to put two tires below this line. You are not allowed to advance your position over any car on the track below this line. If you are forced below this line and you advance your position, you must give the position back before the end of the lap.
  • When blocking you are not allowed to make sudden changes of direction. The following driver must be given enough time to react and avoid you depending on his closing speed. You are allowed to only make one blocking move per straight. Weaving across the track to block someone or break a draft is not allowed.
  • There is no strict formula on how to pass another car or how to be passed. SCANA expects all drivers to respect their fellow drivers. Do not dive bomb drivers. Keep an eye on drivers attempting to pass you from behind. Give a reasonable amount of room. If you find yourself constantly creating alot of contact when you make a pass you probably aren't doing it right. Do not boss your way through the field or through lapped cars. Keep in mind that on roadcourses most turns are not suitable passing opportunities.
  • Physics for every racing series will be "Professional".

J. ACCIDENTS

  • Accidents are a part of racing and are expected to happen and most are honest mistakes. However there is a difference between a mistake and carelessness. A careless driver drives beyond his limits or the limits of others around him time and time again. Learn the limits of your own driving ability and the limits and driving ability of the drivers you race with on a weekly basis before attempting any risky manuvers.
  • If a driver wants to a file a complaint against another driver for wrecking him in a race he should not attempt to retaliate in the race. He should file a complaint with SCANA after the race. The SCANA officials will review the replay and take proper actions. Attempting to retaliate during the race is a bad idea because the driver cannot be 100% sure how or why the incident happened and retaliation may collect a bystanding driver.
  • If you spin/wreck another driver you may slowdown at a safe point on the track and let him retake the position ahead of you. This is NOT a requirement for any accident. It is up to the driver's conscience. However doing this may prevent or lessen post-race penalties. If you think a race accident was just a racing deal and nothing outside of superhuman reflexes or abilities could have prevented the situation then continue on racing. If you think the accident was the other driver's fault then continue on racing. Everything will be settled after the race if the driver you wrecked files a complaint.
  • When recovering from an accident wait until the track is clear before reentering the race course.

K. CONNECTION ISSUES & WARP

  • If a race is disconnected it may or may not be run at another time.
  • If a single driver is disconnected from a race he will be scored behind all the other drivers who finish the race. This will be seen as a mechancal failure.
  • If more then half of the drivers in the race are disconnected the race may or may not be rerun at a later time.
  • If you start to warp drop to the back of the pack or away from other cars. You may be asked to disconnect from the race if you are a threat to the other drivers.

Ill be there. Gonna start to practice tomorrow im off from work YAY...

I'm getting the game for Christmas, and I plan to be up-to-speed by then, so count me in!

Another week, another SCANA test...I'm in. :)

I might be in for pace car duties. :D

I'd like to join this week. Hopefully, we can have more practice to get used to being around other drivers. The map idea is great, and I've been using it in all my Daytona races to see where the other drivers are.
C-ya there!

Count me in guys. If anyone wants to practice just set up a room and invite me. Some of the drivers here need to work on patience and learning the courses with other drivers in there.

Anyone wanna give a hint at what they're running at? I can do low 49's consistently, and get a blue-moon 48 once the tires get a little worn, but I still think my setup is a little off...

Anyone with a little input?

I'll try to be there

Don't be too upset. But a 'good' lap is 0.48.5xx [Race Trim]

A excellent lap is 0'47.8xx [Qualifying]

Just keep practicing. Tomorrow we will practice 30 mins before the races start.

Nice lapping...My only issue is the last three interconnecting corners. Those seem to be the difference between a good and great lap.

Out of curiosity, are we running "no assists" again? I've been practicing with them all off, but am curious since it's not on the top of the thread...

Every assist is default OFF in the Online Lounge.

ABS can be 0 - 10

Tuning is up to you, besides the required settings above.

Yes, those last few corners are hard, will result it a lot of folks spinning. Same with T1, T2...hell, every corner has that 'out-of-control' feel.

I Just want to explain those times a bit more. 47 lap time is REALLY pushing. Like you will burn your tires up in 3 laps..its not practical for racing at all.

A 48.5 to 49 lap time is going fast, but will result in bad tires about 6-8 laps into a run. If you look at tomorrows races, and want to play some strategy. Then if you put down some laps in the 'good' time range, then you can theoretically pit on the competition yellow on lap 10....GOLD... Just avoid ...well spins and wrecks.

If you run 49 and up, you can keep your tires in better condition....ect

Well see you tomorrow, keep your noses clean!

I've got pretty consistent 1:50's now. Throw in two 1:49:8xx I don't know how I managed to pull off. There cars hate to be thrown around its like rain driving.

LSX, maybe I'm misunderstanding but, either you're doing extremely slow lap times, mis-typed your time, or you're not doing Cape Ring Inside...

There are a few Cape Ring Tracks: South, North, Periphery, etc...

Make sure you are doing Cape Ring Inside...Lap times should be under 1 min...

I just looked at the times, and will have to back out of the pace car duties. :(

I don't get off work until 8pm EST.

Thanks for the heads up

Yeah just disregard the 1 I added. Running mid to low 50's.

Edit: I've got a room open at the cape ring now if anyone wants to help me practice. 6:22pm EST

Room is up

Pretty good test.. Just need a full field to get more experience.

Thanks to all who came out.

I was too tired to stay up for it this week, maybe next time. How many people did you have last night?

6-7 This time. Not a lot. Next week will be a more serious event. Be ready for it everyone.

I have been keeping up with your tire testing threads for the past couple weeks now and am very interested in starting to race with you guys in the near future. I have been looking for some kind of racing league and this one seems to keep poking its head up at me so I think this will be the first one I start with. If you don't mind chad, I will send you a friend request later today, or you can send one to me. I think we have raced together in the past a few times. Look forward to seeing yall out there.

So where to next? I want to be prepared with a proper tune for the track. I was way off this week and need to get some laps in. I may start a room later tonight to practice. Maybe some Daytona also if anyone wants to partake.
