Hi guys, I have just unlocked this event (and I know that I am a bit late to the party :guilty: ) and the only car that i currently have to enter this race that is worth mentioning is the Mercedes Benz C63 AMG, so I am more than sure that I will be trounced if I use this car. Therefore I am currently looking for a car to buy (German-made car obviously) that is below 250 000 credits. I have so far considered only the Audi R8 V10 5.2 and the Merc SLS AMG.

Which of these would you consider to be the better buy, or is there any other car that is better to use in this event that I have not considered yet. Please feel free to drop a suggestion.

P.S. I also have the Bugatti Veyron (and that is obviously made in Germany) though i cannot use it in this event :ouch::sick:. How is that possible ?!

Thanks in advance :)👍

I bet if you put some soft racing tires on the C63, you'll be able to win without buying a new car. If you want, I can let you borrow a car that will win this event.

You could try the BMW 320i Touring Car '03. It isn't as fast as the other cars on the straights, but it has far better handling and it can win this event. I managed to win it easily with the 320i Touring Car, plus it only costs 197,839Cr.

Audi R8 fully tuned is pretty good. I used it. However the car you get after beating it is (to be honest) pretty crap.

Bugatti is French.

The SLS and the R8 can easily win it stock. As can the M5, and I would think the M3 could do it too.

Just a heads up (I know than I am not a Moderator or any highly ranked person), you'd better start to use proper punctuation. I learnt this the hard way.

Though thanks for the reply, I think I'll buy the SLS, I've always wanted to buy one anyway.

B you could win with just the c63. It isn't hard as all the opponents are 1 series and the like.

Is this the first one of the two? If so I won it with the Kubelwagon :)

Bugatti is down as a French manufacturer... I can only presume that's because they were owned by Citroen at one point. As you probably know Bugatti was founded in Germany by an Italian and is ultimately back in German control. PD have made other odd nationality choices in the game and this is just one of them.

On the main topic; The BMW 320i Touring Car would be my choice.

I won this series with the C63. It won quite easily on sports softs. Give it a try on the best tyres allowed (racing tyres should help quite a lot).

If you're not such a confident driver perhaps some slight tuning would help. If you don't want to modify your cars then good on you!

I used the Audi TTS Coupe 09 that I bought for an earlier seasonal event. It costs about 70,000CR and I spent some more on power upgrades.

I used the RUF RGT. Awesome car, handles well, fast off the line with the engine at the back. Oil change and some sports softs should be an easy win. I think its in the online dealership now if I remember correctly?

Agreed. I have a fully modified R8 (5.2 liter V10 model), all black body, rims, and spoiler. It looks like a monster and races like a monster. The stock ones are pretty sick though too. The only recommendation I would have is get the adjustable sports suspension and some new tires. Fool around with the camber and ride height and you should be good. A couple times I ran into another R8 during the races, he'll be the biggest competition, but he drives like a grandma.

Bugatti was indeed founded originally in Germany, in Alsace, in a town called Molsheim, but after WW I Alsace belongs to France and Bugattis are still produced in the same factory as in 1918.

On topic - i've done it with a slightly tuned R8 V10 5.2 FSI

True... the border HAS moved to the other side of Strasbourg. The fact remains however that Ettore Bugatti founded his company in Germany in the same way that I was born in a region of the UK that has long since been rebordered and renamed.

It doesn't make Bugattis origins French any more than Lamborghini's timeline makes its origins German :D

LOL guys this can be done with a stock BMW 135 with racing softs. The race is lame as all opponents drive at about 75% of their possible speed.

Just to bring my topic to a close, I have completed the race with my C63 AMG. But boy was it complicated, it had over 600hp and I race with reduced driver aids (only ABS 1 and TC 2) so it was a bit of a handful to handle, but eventually I gold'ed it and got won that big Audi Pikes Peak Quattro.

Thanks the advice from all of you guys.

Try an M3 from the UCD, prefferably the M3CSL or GTR. Very light nimble cars and with the right performance mods, very fast. SLS AMg, R8, SLR, or M3 from new car dealer are aslo good picks

I hate to bring the thread off topic again, but why are the minis considered German?

Im pretty sure you can use the japanese lexus IS-F racing concept on this series. Not inder 250k but interesting lol.

EDIT. nvm, you can use the IS-F in the german touring championship

Bugatti Automobiles S.A.S., which makes the Veyron was founded in 2000 as a successor to the original car company.

Where was it founded?
Molsheim, France!

Mini is owned by BMW.

R8 is a good investment because it wins not only a crap-ton of earlier races it beats both German races also. A bit hard to drive maxed out but easy-does-it and you still easily win.

IMO screw BMW minis.

Real Mini Coopers aren't Beamers, and while the name is technically owned by a German company now I would never race one in a German race, and I would never drive a new one in real life (or in GT5 except to win the MINI race). Just because a German company buys the leftovers of a British company doesn't mean it claims the history of the car as well.

There are a lot of enthusiasts that like the new Coopers but I don't think they belong in a German line-up when there are so many historic German car companies/models to choose from.

Just my opinion though no offense meant to anyone who likes this car.

Interesting! I didn't know that the company was actually a second incarnation of Bugatti. Looks like PD could be right in that case :)

For those who aren't much into European history... Molsheim WAS in Germany and is now in France!

100% agree!!!

I was just about to spend money on a new car for this race after seeing the power outputs of the opponents.

I was thinking of getting along the lines of a RS 6 Avant 08 or a M5. But was undecided.

Luckily i decided to check out the forum for car advice.

In the end stuck with the M3 CSL 03 which was modded almost to the max (power wise).

Easily won the Cape Ring by a huge margin. Just won the Nurburgring (bad driving and not perfect tuning).

I love this race and run it quite often. I always use my 430Hp RUF RGT.
