Stop putting thought into hypothetical what if to the max situations.

And put it into your punctuation and formatting.
Please stop being a joy kill if you disagree with me fine. But don't tell me what I can and cant write its immature.

Don't know if you guys saw I yet, but the FT-86 production model was released very recently. Go to Fastlanedaily'sz youtube channel to see it and hear the report.

No, just the thing you signed when you joined the forum a year ago or so kind of dictates style and standards.

You might want to refresh yourself on it.

As for being a killjoy, I'm pretty much allowed to be one having owned one of the last sport cars Toyota made and, you know, I made this thread.

Yup.

Have you seen the last couple pages? :dunce:

Edit: And the car is not being officially unveiled until the Tokyo Motor Show in a few weeks.

Nope, I opened the thread, went back two pages, only saw the BRZ STi concept photos, and posted.

You also should refresh yourself on the rules my friend. As for owning any sports car whatever it may be that doesn't give you any rights whatsoever. I have also owned my fair share of sports cars from Subaru and Nissan. I was just expressing my opinion on the rendering of the BRZ which really does look like something from GT5 IMO. Its a thread people voice there opinions and speculations. Heck there was a time when people didn't realize the BRZ would be a Subaru. Please I don't want any trouble but I will stand up for myself as well. If your problem with me was just my grammer granted I can deal with that but be more respectful, I would respond differently.

Exactly.
We know the only differences between the brz and frs will be front/rear bumpers and some interior pieces.

Maybe if you didn't post tripe I wouldn't be annoyed. You've been here long enough to know better than that. And I've been here long enough and have actually read those rules before that I'm fine on them, but thanks

hmm is this a possible GT5 DLC car looks like it !

hmmmmmmmmmmm the PLOT thickens

no not enough lol

As for the car itself - Toyota and Subaru haven't exactly been producing gems the past few years. After Toyota killed the MR-S and Celica, the only interesting things to come from them have been the IS-F and LF-A, neither of which are quite in the real of affordable sports car land. Subaru had huge issues, both on their styling and reliability of the STI for the most recent generation.

It has been known for years now that there would be some work between Toyota and Subaru. I'm pretty I made a note of when Toyota acquired more of Fuji Heavy Industries and Subaru.

I am very aware of Toyota having a stake in Subaru that's pretty much common knowledge. I will say for the most part Toyota had lost its way besides super pricey cars that you have mentioned. Subaru really hasn't had styling issues some people like them and some people don't depends on where you land on that issue. They have always been a quirky brand. As for reliability issues that was with the 2008, 2009 and early 2010 STIs but I don't know where you are going with that. For the most part Subaru reliability is rock solid at least in my experience of owning two of them one Forester XT turbo that has almost 200,000 miles on the original turbo. A simple tune with a Cobb accesport can eliminate the fuel mixture issues. Subaru has definitely produced a heck of lot more gems than old Toyota that's kinda evident since Toyota needed Subaru to make this car coming out. Granted Toyota is still respectable and has definitly done good in the sales department, but its pretty evident that Toyota has ( or at least had ) lost there way

-> Um...

I dislike how most cars now look roughly the same... I can't wait to see what cars will look like 15 years from now.
^ Unfortunately Subaru (NA) predicted themselves that cars are already going towards to THIS:

It's hard for two cars that are made next to each other, sharing 95% of components, to look that much different.

Yeah I mean they are pretty much the same car I agree esZee!

I Know I siadi this before but here is the actuall quote and link

"The BRZ feels more like a joint venture between Subaru and Lotus... The Subaru FB20 2.0-liter, four-cylinder boxer uses Toyota’s D4S dual port- and direct-injection technology... The FB20 flat-four is said to make “200-plus” horsepower, so figure about 210 to 220... because of the direct injection, the flat-four revs far more lustily  than any non-turbo Subaru... Compared with an Impreza, the AS1’s motor sits 4.7 inches lower and 9.4 inches closer to the center of the car. This down-and-back location essentially precludes all-wheel drive from ever being offered—at least, not with Subaru’s existing transaxles.... The base sticker is expected to land at about $28,000... the BRZ appears to be the car we’ve been waiting for—the inexpensive, rear-drive sprite the industry has somehow managed to avoid making for generations. It’s the spiritual descendent of the old-school Z, BMW’s 2002, the rear-drive *Celica, and all the other lesser saints of bygone days."

TRD parts catalogue!:

That looks very sexy. 0_0

Don't wanna bang the same drum too often but not too keen. Still a fan of the basic, unadorned shape. I've found recently that factory or tuner bodykits for Japanese cars have been a bit over-the-top (think anything that Honda or Mugen offers, or other kits available on other Toyotas from the factory or TRD).

There's something very appealing about the simplicity of the FT-86. Just has all the right ingredients (RWD, decent power, light-ish weight) in a good looking body for a semi-reasonable price. Only the latter is a bit of an issue, since Toyota is bound to screw us on price in the UK.

I've often wondered why companies like Toyota don't subsidise their cheaper models a little by charging a little more for the expensive ones. Someone paying $2k extra on a $100k Lexus probably won't even notice, but $2k less on an FT-86 would open up the car to even more people.

More new stuff:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2131

-460mm from ground to the center of the crank (low CG)
-53:47 F/R weight split
-Cd (coefficient of drag) of 0.27 (this is really good)
-D-4S tech (direct injection pairs with secondary EFI)
-1,998cc Displacement
-200 HP
-151.2 ft-lbs torque
-12.5:1 Compression ratio (I guessing on this one, and I really hope I'm wrong)
-86mm x 86mm bore/stroke
-Mcpherson suspension front/ Double A-arm rear
-Rear seats fold (as one unit)
-Cup holders can slide
-Can carry 4 tires

WHo knows what the difference is as we haven't seen the BRZ yet.
All I've read is that the bumpers and badges would be different.
We'll know in a couple of weeks.

Those taillights look like an afterthought and don't belong on that car.

I'm ready for this thing to his the market so that my work can buy one as a project car.

The more I look at this car, the more like it.

Toyota can't make cool cars any more. They can release good concepts but not good production cars. :(

But who cares, it'll still be good to drive if Toyota keeps its promises. :)
