I've seen projects like that before, buy a euro econobox and set yourself a budget of say $70 and try to make it look haaaaaaaaaawt daaaaawg.

I'm not surprised at your story. This car is one of the most well mannered cars in the game
It's the same with the Spoon S2000. That thing is a beut. It drives like it's on a railway track. Easily one of my favourites.

I discovered today...

Integra Type R + Stage 1 turbo > Z06 Corvette, Camaro SS, Mustang and Viper

I noticed this when i tried the Beginner League stars and stripes race in Acura Integra with 251 HP and normal tires.

How is this possible!?! 4 cyl. beats 8 and 10!? FF beats FR? My mind is boggled...

So let me get this straight you think that a Integra or ricer as you called it can not beat any V8 or V10 on the road? well than you can just check out this video of a 4 door over 400hp integra kill a viper in the 1/4 mile.

nevermind they do not have the video anymore but if you click on project cars it will show the car and everything about it.

as a matter of fact they do have the video when you click on the bonus button on the side of the webpage it will lead you to the videos nd such. Then scroll all the way down and youll see the video.

Have a crack at it. It's a good laugh.

Dodge Viper GTS. Standard, but with T5 Medium racing tyres. Hotlap of SSR11 Reverse.
Toyota Yaris/Vitz 1.5RS, fully tuned (294hp). Hotlap of SSR11 Reverse.

The Yaris will come out marginally quicker. I was going to have a crack with T6s on the Viper, but never got around to it. It's a great laugh if you use the Viper's ghost too - it just vanishes into the distance on the start line... :D
 I dont think I have skillls anywhere near yours man. That Viper would probably relap me.

No... im pretty sure the whole point was an Integra with a turbo CAN beat a V8 or V10 on the road.

A fully-modded Mini or Vitz for instance costs MORE, looks worse, and then I have no point. Domestic guys would be absolutely right in saying a 'vette is better with its reliablility, drivablility and styling.

What seems to elude the Import fans here is that if your Integra has 400 hp it probably cost MORE than a Viper. You might win on in the 1/4 but on a race track the Viper goes curb, apex, curb on the first corner and the Integra goes curb, understeer, wall. I would be laughing just like all the Domestic lovers out there.

OK well I have my opinion and you have yours so i guess thats just what you believe.

care to share it with the rest of us?

If ya'll want to see what domestic cars can do, check out:

Both have a crap load of vids of imports and domestics alike. Tons of vids. But you will notice that domestic cars tend to stomp imports in the strait line. It's what domestics do.
James-

no i don't mind. Dont think that im trying to be an ass or anything either because im not. I like imports a lot but i also like domestics but i cant stant it when people dog on imprts because a majority of them are 4 cyl. There are imports out there that can woop domestics. I know this for a fact.

More cylinders does not mean more power and speed. I think the 6-cylinder Escudo proves that.

But thats a purpose built race car laying down almost 1000 hp with a twin turbo setup. Think how much more money was dumped into it compared to the price of a decent car that can kick many other cars around.
Either way less cylinders or more, if its going to have a high HP number then some decent ammount of cash will be put into it. That could either make or break the cost of a better car "better handeling and maybe power" that could have been obtained with the same ammount of money.

Everyone IS of course aware that "domestic", in this context, means "from one's own country" and "import" means "Brought in from outside one's own country"?

No please reconcile that with thoughts of the Porsche 911 Turbo (import), Ferrari 575 Maranello (import), Aston Martin Vanquish V12 S (import), Mercedes McLaren SLR (import) and Dodge Caravan (domestic - to you Americans).

A car is a car is a car. Appreciate them all for what they do and don't divide them into "them" and "us" camps, especially given that many of the cars you see as domestic aren't actually built on your shores (although funded by your money, obviously).

Now that's out of the way... :D

Yeah what is it with people using the term ricer. Use it for what it's there for, but don't just use it for anything. "Oh god, Hondas are rice". You suck.

THIS is ricer: I was watching a DVD of the Gumball 3000 when they interviewed a bloke who owned a red Mustang (late model).
It had Skyline style GTR badges on it.
When the blokes questioned him about it, he crapped on that it was some limited edition turbo version, number xxx out of so many... yada yada yada.
"So it's turbo then?"
"Yep, definitely."
"What sort?"
"Ahh. (ten second silence) It came with the car."
"So it 's got factory turbo and intercooler as well?"
"Yep."

The gumball boys drove off in their Bimmer, laughing their asses off.
That's rice. Trying to pretend your car is something it's not.
On an american car of all things... Noob!

Japanese cars are NOT rice, unless they've got ten grands worth of stickers and body kits and nothing to back it up, AND they pretend that it's what it looks like, not what it is.

I don't even class cars done up just for looks as rice, even if they're overdone. If that's what floats their boat, good on them.

I think I've seen a clip of that one. A guy asked him if it had a rotary engine and he said it did. Then they asked if he had pistons installed in it and he said that he did.

That's the one! I watched it and laughed my butt off. It was funny.
It was a Gumball 3000 vid... Mischief or Mayhem or something like that. Cars getting booked all over the place.

yeah i kno what you are saying it doesn't matter if its got more cylinders or not its the power. And i also do not class cars. and i ricer to me is when people put all that gay looking crap on their car but are running some crap engine that they think is fast and they get wooped by a caravan. I like imports a lot but i go with the JDM look not the F&F look.

I don't completely agree with this. Here's a bit of deep philosophy to ignore: I believe that 'ricer' has nothing to do with cars. I think that it's the attitude of the driver that turns the car into a ricer.

I've see heaps of cheap cars (especially Hyundais) trotting around town with huge bodykits and four inch exhausts, cyber kits on Mirages, lookalike EVOs built on povo pack Lancers.
The thing is, some of them are done well and they look good. I'm not a big fan of the wannabe EVOs, but even then some are done well. Most of the guys and gals driving them are pretty decent, and don't try to be idiots about it.

On the other hand, like the noob on the gumball vid, it's him being a knob that makes that rice. Using deception to gain attention. All he had to say was 'Nah, I just stuck the GTR badges on 'cause I like the look of them.'

Some people would call it rice, but I respect that. It's his car - if he likes how it looks, good stuff.

Myself personally, I prefer performance over appearance. Having said that, once my car performed and handled how I wanted, I wouldn't stop there.
Even then, over the top is not my taste: nice, stylish interior; decent bodykit; light pearl paintjob and some sexy wheels would do me.

I know the answer to this ONE!!!! I didn't read all the post but. Here is my answer.

The ITR is faster than those domestic is because on beginner league. The computer only accelerate 80%. Even at Gear 1 and throughout their gears. And you added turbo so and ITR has have REV so your pretty much smoke later. Try doing it to Professional League ^^;

...yeah we got that. Congrats to being the 15th person to mention that... bravo.

oh, btw. The reason why your teg did so well in the begginer leauge, is because the computer racers only accelerates to about 75%. Any Questions??

did you really not think that within these last two pages of posts, that NOT ONE PERSON knew that?? You got guys like famine that can tell you who designed the stickers on the back of the Beetle Cup car and the consistancy of Rubidium (been waiting to use that..lol), do us a favor and READ!

Hey... unfornattely if you did read them all, this would already be revealed. Again, reason why the DC2 (I'm assuming it's that Integra type R..., feel free to say I'm wrong about it but...)... was able to beat those powerfull cars besides the upgrade(s) was the fact the AI at that stage is incredibly weak (then again someone could say it's ALWAYS weak but I would argue about it...)... I've defeated 'better' cars with 'inferior' machines, I managed to beat a Lan Evo VII Rally car on Tahaiti Maze (I believe the difficulty was either medium or hard) with a 245bhp Trueno... when driver skill detrimes a race over the car, it dosen't make TOO much a difference what car a driver uses, if he/she can push it to the maximum on a given course (espically one's with many turns and short straits) he/she can do better than a inferior driver with a better car. I sorta said this already but I'd figure I'd state it out to ya Vietorious.

And please... please read most if not all the posts in a given thread, just trust me on it, okay? Besides what other people probally will say about your said post, but that's just me.

Till later.

EDIT: er... never mind got beaten to the punch about reading all the posts before replying...see what I mean though?...
