Hi guys! Sorry if this has been posted before, but its getting on my nerves. I did a search and the results didnt come back with anything, so here i go!

I recently purchased a new PS3 160gb model along with a 37" LG TV. Its also worth pointing out that im using an HDMI cable purchased from GAME too.

Ive been noticing a lot of screen twittering recently when driving in chase cam. This seems to be happening on any track with any car, but the twittering doesnt happen when a different cam is used.
After a couple of laps it becomes unbearable so you can imagine trying to do the Nurburg endurance race haha.
A friend of mine is also having the same problem and he uses a 42" Sharp Aqous.

Is anyone else having this problem or has Sony recognised that there is an issue?

If anyone can shed some light on this, id be greatful.

Thank you!

It s a glitch in the new "dynamic" chase cam from the 2.02 update. If you race for about 6-7 minutes, it starts to rear its ugly head most prominently when going through corners or any kind of turning.

It almost looks like the car is "teleporting" or "missing" an animation frame as far as I can tell. I wouldn't worry; a lot of us have encountered this and it isn't just you. Hopefully it gets fixed in an upcoming patch.

Thats great. As long as they recognise it :)

I dont mind racing in bumper cam, but i seem to get slower times for some reason :o I guess its because Im a noob haha.

Thank you for the prompt reply by the way, much appreciated :)

No problem, man. I hope it gets fixed too since the chase cam is one of my favorites since I like to actually see what I am driving lol.

I changed my PS3 settings by removing the option for 1080p, GT5 now loads in 1080i. No screen flicker.

(My TV is an LG which is capable of outputing 1080p, it just would not work correctly in GT5)

0o-----o0
___0o-----o0
0o-----o0

Interlaced is BAD!

Put it to 720p or better 1080p, never i 👍

This has nothing to do with screen tear. It's probably what you would call a bug or glitch with the new dynamic chase cam (mentioned before).
I personally find this the worse when using a racing wheel (I have a dfgt).
PD has yet to release anything concerning this issue...

Why? My TV supports 720p and 1080i and I always put it at 1080i because I thought it was better than 720p.

For TVs that support 720p and 1080i, it's probably best to put it to 720p since your native resolution is probably 1366 x 768 (and not 1920x 1080).
And progressive is definitely better than interlaced in fast paced games (racing games...). And I'm pretty sure 720p is one of the native resolutions of GT5. (The other being 1280x1080 for 1080p).

Huh. Will it help with the frame rate not dropping? Because I don't want everything in degraded resolution.
