Is it possible for there to be a search bar when you are not logged in? If I'm not mistaken, in the previous version of GTP, you were able to search for topics while you were not logged in. Occasionally, I browse GTP when I am not logged in, and this causes difficulty when I wish to search for something.

I know it's not exactly what you're looking for but you could google this:

site:gtplanet.net/forum "what you'd like to search for"

If you're not signed in, jump over to the "News" tab and use the search feature in the sidebar; it's always visible, even if you're not signed in to your account. You can also use the search feature at gtplanet.net/search.

That searches the entire website, including blog posts. The "Advanced" search functionality which searches the forums can only be accessed if you're signed in to your account.

Also works well when searching for two-or-three character searches (a known issue with our search feature for many years, although common enough on many forums around the 'net), although you'd probably want to search like this: "search term 1" & "search term 2"

Example: McLaren F1
site:gtplanet.net/forum "McLaren" & "F1"

...to force "McLaren F1" as a search, instead of references to F1 and McLaren within the same post or even anywhere on the same page. Another drawback is that Google does not separate your results by each sub-forum, so you will very likely get results from any part of our boards without much care for post age/date or relevancy.
