So I'm playing some God of War today, and I think "Hey, I'll see what the folks on GTP say about it".

So I do a search for the game title, and nothing comes up. No-thing. No Results. On one of the greatest PS2 games ever made? I don't think so.

So I try an Advanced Search, for "God of War" under the Playstation 2 forum. Again... nothing.

Finally, I try something else.. I figure if there were a thread buried away somewhere, chances are someone would type the main character's name. So I do a search for "Kratos" in the Playstation 2 forum.

Three threads. All of which have the words "God of War" in the title.

Why did they not show up when I searched for "God of War"?

Each word of the phrase "God of War" is less than four characters, and any words smaller than that limit is ignored.

Don't ask why.

Tip: I myself have been running into that problem enough that now I often just use Google. For example, this query would return what you’re looking for:
Code:
site:www.gtplanet.net "god of war"

Sorry to bring this back up...

But is it still the case that the forum software will not allow searching for three character terms?

I know small numbers of characters in searches can result in excessive unrelated matches, but given the vast number of cars in the games that have short designations it would be nice to be able to search for at least three characters.

Case in point, I have been searching for GT4 settings for the RUF RGT - needless to say this returns no results. I have also tried to search the relevant forum through Google, but this did not work as hoped.

Any suggestions, or is this something we just have to live with?

cheers,
brock
