One problem that I've encountered several times: The fact that the Search function wants 3 characters or more.

For example, I was in the Music Forum, and typed "U2" in the Search box, and got the error message...

I've also had it happen in the GT3 forum, when I'm looking for certain cars models and where part of the model name is only two letters/numbers.

I can understand why this standard was set, but is there any workaround short of combining GTPlanet.net with all of my search terms into a Google search? :D

Have you tried using the wildcard "*" to extend the length of search terms (i.e. your search term would be "u2*")?

But that would ruin the point in that case, since U2 is, well, U2 (the band)... unless you mean that it might have enough leeway to interpret spaces as characters...?

It might, I'm not 100% sure, but I do know that it comes up with fairly relevant results when I use the method, and that's better than none at all.

Hmmm... so-so... it came up with all three results that contained "U2's" in it. :p

Oh well... I'll live. ;)

When I search for "M5" to see what Dudebusta's saying about me when he thinks I can't find his posts, it never works. :grumpy:

y_c: You can always search through all of M5's posts, he usually mentions something about U2 in all of his posts.

I've been starting to do it recently as well.

What are you talking about, Jimmy? And it's not like u are doing it 2.

Now that I think of it, that spat of cleverness wouldn't come up on a search for "U2*" in the search engine.

Now it would, though.
