xbox? don't make me laugh!
I've only just been able to use GT5's online features since yesterday.

While for the most part they work fine, I was just racing the Cape Ring Super GT Seasonal. Sector times and distances from 1st were not being shown at the end of sectors, nor at the end of laps (althugh lap times were registered at the side and on the lap counter). Whenever I paused the game, no menu was shown, the game just froze, although you could still unpause it and continue.

At the end of the race there was no "finish" and no final times were shown, it didn't even take me back to the race menu after some time, it just left my car driving neutrally around the track forever... I had to quit the game to get out of it.

Anyone else had this happen? :dunce:

I've had this happen to me several times running the Ferrari seasonal on Sarthe. It mostly happens after I smash the wall trying to cut the last chicane, but it's happened other times in other events, so I'm not sure that is the cause. I haven't really been able to find a definite answer as to what the problem is. Some people have said the PS3 might be running too hot, which I don't think is the problem since our house is like an icebox with the A/C on blast and it's happened in shorter gaming sessions as well. I've seen some people say to delete your game data and reinstall the game, but I really don't feel like going through the hassle at this point.

That happened to me doing Free Run in Tsukuba with an FC RX-7. It's not limited to just the seasonals. It just seems to happen randomly.

Guessing you guys are all using personal race BGM?
Happened to me several time, but since I went back to the in-game music it has been fine.

Huh, you know what I think I am. I posted a thread a while ago with this same glitch - I couldn't even get the drift trials done w/o the menu breaking after 3 tries. I think I will try turning this off.

No, I used to use it but I got tired of the settings that would always reset.

What kind of ps3 do you guys have? I have the original 60gb with a 160gb hdd in it and haven't run into this problem. I thought I remember reading somewhere the slims are a little more tempromental with gt5.

I had an 80GB fat PS3 and never had this problem before. A couple months ago, the blu-ray drive stopped working. I didn't feel like dropping the money on fixing it and worrying about the next time something went wrong with it, so I just bought a new 160GB slim PS3. This is when I started to notice the problem, though it honestly hasn't happened in a couple weeks now I think (knock on wood). It hasn't happened frequently enough for me to really worry too much about it.
