I don't see how we (uk citizens) could have our time calculations wrong. If for example i say that i'm going to start a race at 1400 uk time then that's exactly what i mean, not 1400 uk time plus an hour calculated in. As an overseas racer it's your duty to find out the current uk time in association to your current time zone, this is basic stuff that shouldn't even be queried and the most simple of internet searches will give you the correct time differences regardless of BST or GMT.

Oh I get it now youve figured out the GMT time for all year round and were in BST until october ... some places have GMT all year but ours go forward an hour and back an hour every six months. Sorry about the trouble mate were in BST until october so follow that 👍

I'm seriously not trying to offend you (or anyone else), but every UK resident I've raced with in an event on this forum has been confused about how their time zone relates to GMT. I missed a race in a league around the daylight savings change in the UK because the organizers were from there and thought that GMT moved an hour ahead (or back?), so they had the GMT start time wrong haha. Very weird.

I never said that the UK citizens I have raced with on this forum haven't been able to post their local time properaly. Why would I; obviously everyone knows what the local time in their city is. I said...

Since people from all over the world participate in races organized through this forum it is common to post race times in GMT, and if the race organizers don't understand how GMT works and relates to their local time zone people end up missing races because of it. Below is an example of how I missed a race in a different league along with my response which explains how local UK time relates to GMT.

GMT did not go back an hour; GMT never changes, as far as I understand. Your local time zone changed.

Am I wrong? Google says it is 6:28 GMT right now. (The opening post of the thread said the race started at 6:30 GMT.)

United Kingdom not on GMT in the summer:

When my clock says 6:30pm the qualifying starts and when it gets round to 7:00pm (thats half an hour later for people with difficulties) the race will start.

Races will be held on a Sunday at 7:00pm GMT with qualifying for positions at 6:30pm GMT. (CURRENTLY BST) (PLEASE MAKE SURE OF THE TIMEZONES) Search if you are unsure

Do you not see that when your clock says 6:30 PM it is NOT 6:30 PM GMT? Your local time is BST, which one hour ahead of GMT. (Recall that GMT never changes). No internet search is going to tell people that you have put down the wrong GMT start time in the opening post. You don't have to be a smartass to me. You're the one who can't understand daylight savings time.

BST = GMT + 1hr,
GMT = BST - 1hr,
GMT = (6:30 PM) - 1hr
GMT = 5:30 PM

If you want qualifying to start at 6:30 PM BST (your local time), change the start time to 5:30 PM GMT in the opening post.

Oh good o sign us up! We won't be able to race this Sunday, even though I love Monza, because of an exam on Monday.

Last exam is 16th June so will attend all races after then.

What's happening about the chicanes I did a practise race with strong penalties and it didn't pick me up for cutting them?

My first time racing with some of you guys tonight thought it was alot of fun tiny bit of rubbing which is fine and overall very fair well done to SY although i still reckon i got you on the line but dosent really matter really enjoyed it. Just a thought why only one race we wait a week between meets why not make it 2 or 3 races?? just seemed over al lto quick just my opinion see you next time.👍

Because not everyone can commit to several races per week. I for example have my son and mrs to think about, long working hours through running my own company. That's why this formula is a winner for me personaly and it makes me look forward to it all the more so.
