Just to name a few:

Suzuki GSX-R/4 Concept '01
TVR Cerbera Speed 12 '00
Nissan R390 GT1 Road Car '98
Lotus Evora '09
Buick Special '62

It seems to me that these cars just ROFLstomp any competitive Seasonal Event (be it a new one or not) that PD releases every once-in-a-while. People just use these outclassed cars to get a name on the top scores list like "Hey! Look at me! I'm ALL THE WAY up here! On the flippin' high scores!"

Did I miss any ROFLstompers out there?

I remember seeing a NSX RM in the top ten at a time trial a long while ago. You've pretty much got it covered, though.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evo Rally Car '03

Also, if you think it's all car why don't you use these and try getting onto the leaderboard? ;)

If I do use one of these cars (which I have, believe it), the I don't even have to try and focus to get on the podium. I like a challenge to get the gold times/scores, so I do challenge myself for every event. It's just too easy with these cars, and I'd like to see these "skilled" drivers use a different car to make their tread-mark...

NOPE, EVERYONE JUMPS ON THE BANDWAGON! :dopey:

So, you're saying when everyone uses the same vehicle - then there's no skill required to be #1?
What?!

When I think again - you're reffering to gold/silver/bronze prizes, right?
Trust me, people don't use those cars you stated because of the prizes, they use them because of the competition.
Then everyone uses the same car and the best driver is #1, simple as that.

Oh and trust me, top guys are top, no matter what the car is.

Thats funny cause I don't recall seeing you on any of the leaderboards for the events where the same car had to be used. NASCAR TT (past) and the GT-R V SPEC (present) You want skill, there ya go hotshot, jump into the GT-R TT. You complain about people using a certain car to gain an advantage, well there ya go, try that one.

I totally agree Energizerrr, now how do I get my hands on a GSX/R ??

Maybe my spilled lighter fluid sparked too many flames... :p

What I am trying to say is that they should alter the HP regulations for new events as they roll in to get some new competition out in the field. I'd like to see something different, and the NASCAR and X2010 seasonal time trials were something of that nature, which is something I was hoping for.

It's anybody's battlefield, because everybody is (technically) using the same car, so it's natural competition. Or maybe I'm just anal about this sort of thing.

People may see this thread one way or another, but that's just my two pennies worth...

I get what your saying. I like same car races, just not those same cars... lol

Send me FR on PSN and i put mine on share (GSX/R it's that motorcycle carlike thingy.., right?)
And i agree too (with both) but Energizerr (nice name, i had a energiser shoe once, but i'm drifting of) i agree more with. I like to use cars wich don't stand a chance (even in the hands of pro's) and see how far i get, it's a fun sport -imo- i usually look at friends only leaderboards and get in the top 10 with a 2CV (yea you gussed it.., i don't have 10 friends -sniff- but i'm drifting of.., again LOL)
@ op what is ROFL ???
Greetings stano666 :)
PS There's bound to be 1 (or one group of) car(s) who's the fastest the Nissan (360 roadcar, i lost it's name but you know wich i mean) happens to be such a car

How about you forget about the podium places when you race with these cars and focus on how high you can get on the leaderboard?

Actually, it's the prize car for the B-spec Formula Championship. 👍

The Caterham Fireblade is the A-Spec prize car.

Thanks Stano666 and GoSpeedRacer. When reading this it occurred to me that I skipped the FGT championship and Dream Car in B-Spec, so I have gone back and won the FGT Champ and got my Suzuki.

I was using a Lotus 111R for the TT and got to 4700 or so, but with the Suzuki, I have managed to get to 1780. I'm still 5 seconds off the pace, I know I can drop another second, but how do they do a 1.29 in the TT ??

Cheers

Edit : I have a DFGT on order, should have it early next week, hoping that will help !

More variety with the HP, weight, pp, car type restrictions would give a bit less monotony. Eg we've had FF and Japanese TTs. I'd like to see an off road TT where you can't use rally cars. We could have more variety for DTs to rid us of the Speed 12 scourge for a month.

Whatever you do though there will always be a standout car or two that the top guys flock to.

I think a lot of people miss out on the choice of cars because they come to forums find the best detuned car and tunes just to do the challenge, even though will never be contenders.

I prefer to challenge myself with unlikely cars to do the trials; I know I'll never be at the top so I have fun and take the money.👍

Your best bet is to click on the top names of the Leaderboards and save their replay for viewing. Then, you can see the lines they are taking, and other bits of information (speed, braking, gears, etc.).

Sometimes what you see in the replays is not exactly "by the book" and the top drivers will cut where they can and also heavily ride the kerbs, but most of those top drivers would still be top drivers, even if the heaviest of track penalties were on during the TT. I just mention it because in order to be alien fast you have to keep up with the Jones', if you want to compete at their level.

A good example of NOT "by the book" would be the recent FF TT where everyone was just slamming their car off of the walls to set the top times. 👎

For me, I have more fun just getting the money and gear and racing against the times in my friends list. 👍

Im still tryin to figure out where you get the R390 road car. I got the race version but never see the road car in the OCD, new dealers or used, and havent got one in a car ticket.

The Nissan R390 GT1 Road Car '98 comes up in the UCD. It's not as common as others and I think it only appears 2x in the first 2500 game days for Master List #1. I want to say that they did have one in a past OCD, but don't quote me on that, as I am not in front of my PS3 to check for 0/0 on my spare. I might have gotten both of mine from the UCD.

Got silver with a stock Lambo Miura '65 (or 7???) I had to downtune the engine ofcourse. Next time i'll try it with some tuning and possible loose some weight that way even i will get gold -LOL-
btw I still wonder what ROFL is, thanks -sarcasm so funny haha-

ROFL = Roll On Floor Laugh

These cars will crush the competition so bad, that it's supposed to make you roll on the floor and laugh at others... :p

Anyone wanna throw out some cars that they have used for the Madrid current seasonal?

Yeah, no gold yet though. Not having much time on the game and no chance to get my wheel set up so these are ds3 efforts:

83 Silvia RS (I used for the Deep Forest DT). Full weight reduction, 238?hp: bronze 1:47xxx - Silver doable, pos gold with wheel and better setup; it just wants to drift.

98? EXA LA cab thing. Maxed out, 242hp: silver 1:46.03x - very understeery.

92 Civic SiR ii: full weight, tuned to 260hp with limiter. Silver 1:44.9xxx. Doable with ds3, handles nicely, but it's hard to control the wheel spin.

Edited the times! Was doing it from memory.

Try the Lotus Elise 111R, fully worked, you can get it down to around 860kg's and 246hp, put everything else on it, including one of the wings from GT AUTO. I did a 1.37.xxx with this.

The Opel Speedsters and Vauxhall 220's are a joy to use in Madrid.

Tuning is necessary if you want to hope for any gold times. But it still makes it no less fun. ^^

👍 tanks, hopefully i remember  (on the floor)
@ Woodski: to me this is what makes GT a good game, you have lots of cars to choose from and some are pretty original.., i like that. The EXA cab thing is a car i'd never heard of and when it would drive through my street i normally wouldn't look at it but thanks to GT i'd look twice and think: 'hey i know that car, it drives like excrement (no offence meant, i don't want to hurt EXA enthusiast feelings, it's just an example) but it goes from a to b non the less, and i saw it in Gran Tourismo' It's stupid -i know- but thanks to GT i enjoy driving my mothers Demio (mazda) a lot more (and in real life the Demio is even slower -ROFL-)
So seeing others using cars that many people don't like much made me glad.
I golded TT24 in a Miura (not very ordinary in real) but i'll go back to the Citroën C4 (a.o.) since i couldn't gold the event in it (i got silver sofar) The TT forces you to use comfort/sport tyres wich makes it challenging, Even a good tune won't help much to mask that, and if you use a old car the challenge gets better still.
