Seasonal events ruin the balance of the game!!

I do the opposite. I make sure I can win the race by overpowering the car. For the open seasonals up until now, I wanted to make sure that I got the credits and XP before the races went away. I don't have a lot of time to do the seasonals over and over gradually moving up a place or 2 each time I race. If I have time, then I go back and try the race again using the seetings that they provide in the immaculate challenges.

I think everyone that complains about GT5 is missing the obvious. GT5 is very flexible and allows players to play the way they want to play. Sure, by doing it this way they may have produced a game that is not superior in any one area, but they have defintely made a game that is good in a lot of areas and appeals to may different types of players.
It's cool that doing the exact opposite is an option. :) That's often how I'll do A-spec, overpower at first, then go back and underpower it.

You're dead on about the flexibility. One of the complaints we've heard is that there aren't different difficulty levels for the AI, but it's actually an infinite spectrum of difficulty based on how strong a car you bring to the track.

I have to disagree. How does GT5 allow players to play the way they want when the stupid level system restricts you from what cars you're allowed to drive and what races you can enter? Sorry, but GT 1-4 allowed much more freedom in the way you wanted to play.

You must have played different versions of GT3 and GT4 than I did. Both of those had lots of restricted races as well. Maybe not by level, but for sure by car, manufacturer, drivetrain, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I do like both of those games better than I like GT5 so far because there were just more races, more variety, and no level system (yes, I agree with you and don't like the level system). With the seasonals though, the number of races available expands by 6 or more each week or so and they provide the flexibilty and expandability that I need given the time that I have to race. I am sure that if I devoted more than the 5-6 hours a week that I do to gaming, that I would have a different opinion.

OP, if you think they are unbalanced, why did you do them? They are optional, not required for you to complete the game. I enjoyed all of the seasonals so far, through the expert hall in a-spec, and I am only level 29. It's not like 3 weeks of seasonals will make you level 40 and the game is over. Don't worry about your level, save the money if you want, and enjoy the game.

Thank you. 👍 👍 I think the seasonals actually bring some balance to the game. A good third of the cars in my garage I would not own but for the seasonals. There was no way I was going to grind Indy 200 times to buy a Sauber or Speed 8 or something like that.

Well, when I said restrictions, I was talking about how the games let you progress. In GT3, for example, you could do an endurance race very early in the game if you wanted. Just grab a Miata, pass the licenses (which unlike the level system, don't take long at all to get through), enter the Miata enduro, and bam, you could have plenty of credits and barely have any of the beginner races done. I'm not saying I do this, but this is just an example of how non-linear the previous games were.

I like the seasonals too, but the way they're being spoon fed to us every few weeks isn't enough to get me back into GT5. They could've spent the time that went into figuring out how the level system would work into making A-Spec as massive as it was before instead. Hopefully whatever this GT Drivers Club is will change my view of GT5.

I think it was temprorary boost so people can catch up and in the next update they will drop the credits way down

Seasonal events are perfect.

They are for people who can't/won't do the endurance races.

I did think the way the seasonals were done before was flawed but came at a time which was convenient for me (just enduro races left). However when I started a sub account and effectively started from scratch I got to level 25 or something really fast doing the seasonal events, i'm level 29 on my second account without even touching the A-spec campaign. So there is obviously a problem with the balance here.

Seasonals with a level restriction would have made more sense, i.e lvl 25 onwards you have to race higher level AI, more restrictions, but also greater XP and credit rewards.

I think that its great PD are working and giving us more all the time, I cant think of many game companies that would have left it as is and left us hanging, im sure they have some big things planned, I'm not too keen on the leveling system, think it would have been better to do without it all together.

GT3 Career Mode > GT4 Career Mode > GT5 Career Mode

This "leveling up" system is ridiculous. The prize cars are ridiculous. The prize money is a joke, sometimes too much sometimes too litle. No consistency to be found.

About the Seasonals ... well, at least they give us something new to play offline. In a game with such a crappy and unbalanced and short offline mode (by GT standards, by far the worst offline game in the series) they are a breath of fresh air. Even if they, themselves, cannot stand a comparison with any GT3 Championship. Btw, we could save those between races ... oh well

Seasonals are online not offline :P (technically)

I guess the seasonals with big payouts were like a bonus for the "early adopters" as well as the buff to payouts and xp. I find them fun as do many others and the repeatable Ferrari f1 races still give excellent xp. It was an individuals choice 3 weeks to get to level 22 or an afternoon of seasonals, to each their own. PD are probably trying to find a balance but as always theres going to be people who don't like it at one extreme or another or even in the middle they are getting mixed messages, this age of internet has ruined GT IMHO, in GT4 there were no such issues as they just released the game they wanted with no feedback from Joe public but now everyone has their own opinion which makes trying to please everyone impossible.

Just my $0.02

The F1 races are quite good as you said, I've only done the Tokyo race so far, not looking forward to racing the F1 tracks because I know that as soon as I race them I'm just going to laugh at GT5 and go back to F1:2010!
