I wonder if we will see the return of the Cupra R with 4WD at some point. Think this facelift photoshop sharpens the car up nicely.

Is that from one of those magazines that just make things up?

You tell me, you guys seem to know all. Do you think this magazine has good sources to have a valid reason to mock up such a image? Or maybe they are chasing sales?

Any chance of this thread being non-confrontational?...

Facelifted Leon looks good. I'm a fan of the current one anyway. Not sure if a coupe-cabrio is the way to go though, I'm not sure there's really a market for it unless people are after a cheap Eos. I'd be more interested in the next-gen Toledo (can't remember what they're calling it), the mock-ups I've seen of that looks great.

The drop top is probably has one of the worst side profiles out of any car I've ever seen. What in god's name were they thinking?

I'm neutral towards the hatch, not spectacular looking but not overly ugly.

I think the droptop looks okay, thought that is only a render, I just can't see who's likely to buy it. If anything, that droptop is one of the better looking coupe-cabrios around in that class.

I think my question was valid considering you said this...

so tell me little boy what makes you believe magazines? Most of their info is wrong, others "steal" info from forums and then theres the few that get it right every now and again. As I have said on other foums people are happy to get such info.
So is that one of the magazines "that get it right"?

Its a photoshop. The magazine doesnt claim that the leon CC will have a 3.0 liter supercharged engine.

Anyway scaff said that volvo dont make any fun to drive cars. Dont see anyone picking him up on such an outrageous claim.

Anyway scaff said that volvo dont make any fun to drive cars. Dont see anyone picking him up on such an outrageous claim.

It's not such an outrageous claim. "Fun" Volvos are much more about straight-line speed than handling and not everyone finds the imbalance "fun".

Regardless, it's getting really, really boring every thread you're in turning into an arguement, and to be fair to you it wasn't even your fault this time, as you were provoked.

Most threads are provoked by certain members who have never have anything positive to say, or anything to do with the topic. And if volvo doesnt make any fun to drive cars then I guess the focus and mazda 3 must be pretty boring too. Only on GTP would someone get away with a comment on that. Im sure vovlo owners would have alot to say about that.

In other threads you've been provoked because you've posted drivel and people have taken issue. In this thread, you've been provoked unfairly. If you're going to turn it back on me after I've tried to defend something you've rightly said I won't bother in future 👍

And if volvo doesnt make any fun to drive cars then I guess the focus and mazda 3 must be pretty boring too...

The S40, Focus and 3 are very different cars despite being based on the same platform. If you've read any review you'll see that the handling characteristics of each are quite different. The only solid thing a T5 Volvo and the Focus ST have solidly in common is the engine - much of the rest of it is fairly different. As you can tell just by looking at them.

Only on GTP would someone get away with a comment on that. Im sure vovlo owners would have alot to say about that

Volvo owners are a loyal bunch who'd stick up for the cars regardless of how badly they handled, in the same way that Saab owners say they like torquesteer, or Alfa owners not minding that they may not reach their destination.

I wasnt trying to turn it back on you, its just that there is a small select group of members, who dont really contribute at all in a positive manner, all they do is brown nose each other like a clique. I have been wondering for a while now why this section of the forum is so dead, compared to how it used to be and how new members never seem to stick around for too long. I put it down to the negative vibes.

Anyway the volvo C30, isnt that basically a more comfortable Focus ST, mazda 3?

And the S60 R is a fun to drive car.

Im sure vovlo owners would have alot to say about that.

I own a Volvo. It's rubbish. It is fun to drive, but only for comedy value.

On topic, presumably the convetible is an Eos with a new nose?

my dad owns a volvo. His is rubbish too, but then its not a volvo designed to be sporty.

Yeah I would presume its just a reshelled eos, with stiffer suspension, lower quality interior and a cheaper price. Basically a renault megance cc and peugeot cc figther.

New Seat Leon Cupra Limited Edition with 310HP!

Seat-Leon-Cupra-310HP.jpg

Claiming to have developed the fastest ever production model in the Spanish automaker’s history, SEAT of The Netherlands introduced a special edition version of the Leon Cupra that packs a whopping 310 ponies under its hood. Based on the standard Cupra, the Dutch upgraded the 240HP 2.0-liter TFSI engine (the same unit is used on the Golf GTI) to develop a total output of 310 HP and a maximum torque of 425 Nm or 315-lbs/ft.

According to SEAT, the revised Leon Cupra 310 Limited Edition can achieve a top speed of 259 km/h or 161 mph making it the fastest ever production vehicle to wear the SEAT badge. The ‘super’ Cupra which will be built in a limited run of just 100 units, all destined for the Dutch market, also sports black 18-inch Orion alloy wheels and a special badge on the dashboard with the production number of the vehicle.

Anyway the volvo C30, isnt that basically a more comfortable Focus ST, mazda 3?

It is, but with (according to the reviews) poorer steering feel and less damping control. Just one example, though I know you're not a fan of Auto Express, but:

Auto Express on the C30 T5
Unfortunately, it lacks the handling ability of its Focus ST sibling...The Volvo is safe and perfectly balanced, but it’s still not a truly focused thrill-seeker

Auto Express on the C30 R-Design
Does the driving experience match the racy looks? Not quite. Despite its Ford Focus underpinnings, the C30 simply isn’t much fun. Its steering is accurate yet rather numb, while the ride is fine on smooth roads, but brittle over broken surfaces.

Even the 3 isn't supposed to be as sharp as the Focus. Although they're all on the same platform the actual chassis tuning is done in-house for each. It's no different from the changes between a Leon and a Golf, really, except probably even more noticeable.

Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer a C30 to either the Focus or the 3, but I wouldn't buy one assuming it'd be as fun as either.

And the S60 R is a fun to drive car.

Again, not really what I've heard. From reviews in magazines and other ones I've found on the net, it seems more like just a quicker S60 - no more fun but equally comfortable, and not helped by it being priced towards M3 territory when it was released:

Clarkson's Times review
Automobile Mag review
Autocar review

The ‘super’ Cupra which will be built in a limited run of just 100 units, all destined for the Dutch market, also sports black 18-inch Orion alloy wheels and a special badge on the dashboard with the production number of the vehicle.

Seems strange the UK isn't getting it, given that we're the biggest hot hatch market in Europe.

Hmm, I think I rather like it. It wears the Ibiza face better than the Ibiza, I think. I prefer the old look, but this will undoubtedly grow on me.

In my opinion, based on driving the entire range, Volvo doesn't currently make a car I believe is fun to drive. What that has to do with a SEAT thread I have no idea (particualrly as I've not passed comment in this thread at all), but as a personall observ ation I stand by it. I did in the thread you are refering to ask you what you based your opinion on and what of the range you had driven, you didn't reply.

It would however seem that you want to start getting personal on this area, not a problem with me, I will ask one of the admin staff to look into your complaints and deal with them as appropriate.

That a number of us, in your opinion, don't add anything of value to the site I disagree with wholeheartedly. Try looking past the small number of sub-forums you post in and you will see that quite clearly.

Need I remind you that it is you that has a track record (and indeed a banned account - including pretending to be your own brother) of poor quality posts, missleading information and supplying unsourced material. You have over time been given far more chances than most ex-members, you have repeatedly been told exactly what is expected of all members and chosen to take no notice of that advice. As an example refering to another member in this manner....

so tell me little boy

....only a few days ago.

To complain now that you feel hard done by is missleading and also in direct contrast to the volume of reports and PMs the staff recieve that complain directly about you as a member and your posting style.

As I said above, I will now refer your comments and this thread to the admin team and ask them to deal with it as they feel is needed. I would however remind you that you are on last chance status and that attacks on any member (no matter if they are thinly vieled) are an AUP violation.

Volvo hasn't made a fun-to-drive car since 1994. And that car was only fun on accident.

Now, Volvo does make desirable cars, but that is another matter.

I find that amusing. Firstly I did not pretend to be my own brother. That is just another one of your assumptions. Secondly, I find it rather sad that certain members feel the need to be some sort of tattle tale. I could very well complain about them also however im not so petty. Do people really get that upset and worked up over the internet?

Other parts of the forum are active, but this part has been dead for quite some while now, and it used to thrive. These days, this section is primarily filled with bitchy sarcastic comments and nothing but upmanship. To be honest when I have the same set of longterm regular members who all brown nose each other constantly typing nothing constructive but sarcy comments I will eventually reply, with what is indeed the behaviour of a little boy.

GTP used to be fun but to be honest the way it has been going over the past year im not so sure I feel the same way anymore. The negativity that sits in every other thread, and the fact that people seemingly can never be civil for too long has become tiresome. No wonder we have lost so many great members over the years.

You know if you don't like the site you don't have to come here.

Yes the auto news section has been a bit dead but so has the auto industry, I mean really if the most exciting thing is a facelifted Seat Leon then we are in trouble.

Didnt expect that from you joey considering your past hiatus. If it carries on the way it is though I will most likely move on.

Plenty of car news and things to talk about. Problem is, over on GTP no one posts about it, and when people do lets just say often it ends argumentative or unconstructive.

Your efforts here have quite a bit to do with the current state of affairs in this part of the forum. Do not pretend otherwise, or act as if it is an arbitrary conspiracy against you.

You have consistently posted unverified materials, which only you can or will vouch for, as if they were fact. You have consistently painted certain marques as if they were the Almighty's gift to the automotive world, and you have taken it as a personal affront when others have disagreed or questioned your thinking. You have posted uncredited material with no indication that you are NOT passing it off as your own.

This is why people react to you the way that they do. If you do not approve of your treatment here, feel free to find somewhere that you will be treated in the manner you feel you deserve. If you continue to post here, you will be treated as you have been: your sources will be questioned, your logic will be tested, and you will be held accountable for further breaches of discipline.

Is this clear?

Is that a crime?

Forgive me for posting about a certain marques numerous positive points

It is a crime when you consistently get into arguments because you insist on defending those marques to the point of absurdity, using uncredited and unverified materials, and opinions passed off as facts.

 right back. Do not pretend that you haven't brought this upon yourself. With two accounts (if not three), now.

I find that amusing. Firstly I did not pretend to be my own brother. That is just another one of your assumptions.
Please be aware that the staff are still more than able to view all the posts and PMs, check the IP ranges, etc from that incident. Everything done under the Poverty, HAHALOL and Forza2.0 accounts are still easily reviewed by us.

The evidence points to one of two situations, either you used all three accounts or your brother used one of them and then allowed you access to cut and paste entire PMs and post them publicly (and as spam for that matter in a completely unrelated thread).

Secondly, I find it rather sad that certain members feel the need to be some sort of tattle tale. I could very well complain about them also however im not so petty. Do people really get that upset and worked up over the internet?
So you have a proble with members trying to keep standards to the established level and for using the tools provided to do so (the report button)?

Not exactly the sort of attitude we would expect from any member, please remember in this, that what we are asking you to do is no different to what we ask of any member. Anyone posting something as fact, that is not common knowledge will be asked to prove it. That's why most members link to sources for any material of this nature or they clearly say its rumour, opinion or speculation.

The entire reason why we are in this situation is your continued belief that this does not apply to you.

Plenty of parts of this forum and most forums go through cycles. Hell the WRC threads have been as dead as a doornail for ages now, it happens.

The sub-forums here are no full of 'sarcastic comments', but what I can say (and it applies to ANY part of the forum) is that anything posted as fact, unless common knowledge, should be backed up with a source or proof.

Its not exactly difficult to do (if its a fact that is), and as such I fail to see why its such an issue for you.

GTP used to be fun but to be honest the way it has been going over the past year im not so sure I feel the same way anymore. I will be rather blunt about this. If you don't like it here then don't post here, you know what we expect of members (having been told enough times) and you can either post as everyone else has to or you can leave.
