Sega Racing game for PS2

Someone told me today that SEGA was coming out with a racing game for PS2 that was going to make GT3 look like match box cars on a sidewalk.  He couldn't tell me much more than the fact that it was going to crush GT3 in all aspects.

Can anyone confirm this?  :confused:
 
I can't imagine much that could crush GT3, although i'd like to see it if it could. If it is real, I'm sure a lot of it is gonna be borrowed from GT3.
 
Yes, I heard this also. However, there's a likely chance it will not be better than GT3. Trust me on that! Anyway, I think the game with be Sega Rally 3. Since SEGA is developing on all systems, there's a good chance this could be true. Also, since the PS2 is almost on-line, there's a pretty good chance Sega Rally 3 will be major on-line multiplayer!!! Hope that help ya'll out...

Remember all the roumors about that Ridge Racer for the N64? Even MAg were sayin it was better. Thats all they were - rumors.
 
I think this is a croc of s***. I have a subcription to Official US Playstation Mag, and I have heard no news of this so far, and such a stor7y would have them raving mad. It's also licensed by SCEA, so if news did come out, they'd be informed ASAP.
 
Hi, from my experiences with Sega, my best guess would be, the game will be crap, no way will it be better than GT3,  :)  I hope in a way that I'm proved wrong ;)
 
Everyone said Sega GT was gonna be good...I wasn't really impressed with that, and I expect the new Sega Racer won't be significantly better.

PLEASE SEGA...PROVE ME WRONG...Pressure PolyDigital to make an even cooler game!

 
If anyone comes out with a game anywhere near or better than GT3, we will all be smiling and cheering :)
 
This would be a very good thing, as Polyphony Digital would have some serious competition, therefore making them create better games.  They'd better not rush anything, though.  :nervous:

But, I need to see screenshots before I even consider believing this.  :frown:
 
ya know...whatever i don't care what anyone says there are no graphics in the eworld that could make gt3 look like matchbox cars, they are just too good.
 
I couldn't agree more.  Frankly, I think he was full of ****, but would welcome the idea.  :)
 
Have you all actually PLAYED a sega racing game?  Theay arent even comparable.  Sega racing is more like mariokart than Gran Turismo.  GT3 is a Driving SIMULATOR, not an arcade game.  The only thing comparable is F355 chanllenge, and Sports Car GT for PC.  (the Playstation version was just BAD)  F355 has an arcade version, but it is bad.  they try to cram the driving line trial and error process of GT3 into the bump and run arcade format of daytona USA.

Sega games are great, in the Arcade.  I love Daytona,  I like sega rally, and I thing Sega GT is great.  None of these games is trying to be GT3.  If they stick with the same format, GT3 has nothing to worry about.
