now this show has been broadcast for years and ive never actually been able to like any episode ive seen. to me, the whole show is a pile of crap. every episode is a wasting 30 minutes of your life and nothing they say is in the least bit funny accept for the things kramer says.

overall ive gotta say that seinfeld is very overrated and dry.

what do you think?

i love the whole concpet of the show about nothing. I dont have to back **** up about kramer, goerge and his parents are some of the funniest characters i have ever seen, jerry always has witty, funny things to say.... this show just rocks. there was a reason why it lasted so long, it was great.

Kramer is my fave  I like the concept of the show about nothing where it doesn't seem like a show, it seems kind of like real life, plus it is funny. I think it would be better instead of showing reruns if they got the same people back together to do a few more series. I would really appreciate that :)

its crap. there, that sums it up.

I think my "english humor" mechanisms have trouble with it.

No its not my cup of tea, although my brother thinks its hillarious.

It isn't that funny now. Damn. After seeing the eps about 20 times (each) it really is getting worse. It is still ok though. :|

The humour in it just passes me by. I don't even see where the jokes are, let alone laugh along with the punchlines. But as Race Idiot says, maybe it's a British thing.

Well, it's like anything else that outlasts its welcome. There were utterly hilarious shows in every season, and there were dogs. They definitely fell into a formula as the show grew more successful, which makes a lot of it predictable - that's a bad side. Even though they tried to keep the characters fresh, it obviously wore thin after a while.

But some of the observational humour is devastatingly accurate, at least from an American point of view.

Even so, I'd rather watch 2 hours of Seinfeld than one episode of Friends.

I like the bass line.

I like dry humour, but not this dry.
DRY!!! Dehydrated humour. That's it.

I like it, but I was never on an gotta-watch-it-every-week basis; sometimes there are episodes where I want to say, "Oh, quit your bellyaching!'" to the characters.

I used to love it, and watched every week.
I still like it, but i've seen every episode atleast 3 times, so it's not as funny as it was for me anymore.

But i still like Kramer:lol:

It's kind of a given that our British counterparts wouldn't like 'Seinfeld' very much. British and American humor are very different. Of course there are some things which are universally funny, but that's beside the point.

Anyhow, 'Seinfeld' is a very good and witty show which uses a lot of American humor/references. If you don't like it, and you live in American, then you either probably don't understand the jokes or just don't like that particular brand of humor. It happens.

Different strokes for different folks, y'know?

Very good points - I'm a big Seinfeld fan, and I must say that although at times they have me rolling on the floor (like when George finds Susan's doll to look exactly like his mother) there are also times ('Bizarro world') where I just want to tell them all to shut the hell up. About the show wearing thin, it's fairly true also, although some of that can be attributed to co-writer Larry David leaving at the end of the seventh season and Jerry being forced to write the next two seasons alone, especially because Jerry never had the writing talent David had.

PS - You're exactly like my father, Duke, in all of your views - the 'I'd rather watch Seinfeld than Friends' is just a classic example (along with the extremely low tolerance for idiocy). It never ceases to amaze me.

I like it more now on repeats than I did when it was new. Meaning I never really watched it then.

But George is so pathetic is sometimes annoys me. And Kramer is sad, he'll never get a real acting job again. He'll always just be Kramer.

It's hard for me to schedule a time to watch specific programs. I'm just not that structured I guess. I watch TV when there's nothing else to do and that is no particular time. So I just watch whatever's on. Usually something ducumentary.

But there is one exception. My wife and I watch Antiques Roadshow every Friday, never fail.
