Selecting cars from garage

Hi All,

I was wondering if someone could explain to me how to select a car from my personal garage after I join a room. When I am in the room and open the garage to try to change my car to meet the race requirements, it seems like only a predefined list of cars are available to chose from; none of which are mine. The only way I have been able to change my vehicle is to leave the online community, go back into GT mode and select a car from my garage, then proceed back to the online room. What am I doing wrong?

Mark cars in your off-line garage as a favorite. Then, once online, click on the favorites tab on the left side.
 
Yes mark it as a favotite and you will be able to chose it under the favorites tab when going to your garage in online lobby.

Although if the host has set rectrictions to wich car(s) is allowed you may not be able to chose it.
