I don't know how many of you feel as I do about how to get heard by the big companies, but they care about where we're spending our money. I am going to attempt to make a point of only buying games, for my XBox and my PS2, that have online play.

The more people purchasing games with this in mind will get the attention of the producers - eventually they'll start working harder to get their games online.

That doesn't mean you have to go out and buy every online game, but think more about buying games that don't have online features before you buy them.

I've skipped a couple Potentially good games because they lacked online play, but sometimes games are good enough to stand on their own without it (plus certain games just shouldn't be online.)
I think we are in the midst of an industry catch up period where online play is less than a year old, and game development times are generally 1-2 years+. Wait until this fall and you will see far more online games, and next year we will most likely see all FPS and racing games (and even some fighting) online.

Beh, I don't like online play.

If I want to play other people,i'd rather play my friends at games. Also playing online games on a 56k modem is a bit laggy (to say the least) and I don't want to get broadband (yet). I suppose if you don't have any friends that like playing games online gaming is an option. This is why I don't give two arsecracks about GT4 being online.

Also not every game is suitable for online play.

Thus ends a pointless rant about online gaming.

Don't like it.

You really should. not joking at all, try to get.

:irked: While i dont play games online (i dont have a network adapter, but im trying to get one) why dont you like GT4 online? I like it because there will be some worth racing, not just your neighbors who can barley play the game.

whats your problem with online play with GT4? you didnt really explain.

Off topic...
I don't see the point in racing online. This is just my opinion, but why would it matter that you're racing against the AI or someone else? I mean with the AI, they won't try any cheap tactics to win the race like someone else but of course if you can comeback from those tactics then that would make racing more fun, I guess. I'm not that big of a fan of racing but I will get GT4 and enjoy it even though I won't play online.

Back to the topic...

I can see where you are coming from, LoudMusic, but some games shouldn't be played online at all. Like adventure games, I would prefer to play an adventure by myself and do all the things in it compared to playing it with someone else online and having them do the things. That's just me but it could be different for you or anyone else.

But that's where the fun can come for the people who race online. I mean if you were in the lead then some jerk just smacked into you going into a turn and you lost the lead. Now, if you were able to comeback and win the race then that could be fun because you won the race even though some jerk tried to win by hitting you.

Jesus christ, can you stop bloody ragging on everything I say. I am entitled to an opinion and I am expressing it. I have several friends who all play GT quite well (Keeno is one of them and he is pretty good). I would prefer it if GT4 just had an online time verification system, to confirm times. Yes i'm sure there will be competition, but most of them will be 'I AM 1337 DIRIFT0Rzzz j000, SUX0R' so I can see it being a major pain in the arse.

The most fun I ever had with GT3 was racing all my mates in a 6 player I.Link match, I doubt racing loads of shunting 13 year olds driving 9 billion hp Escudos will top that in the fun levels.

I agree with Race Idiot. I think it would be more fun to race your friends then with people you don't know at all. When you're racing your friends, you know that it is all just for the fun of it and to have the bragging rights in the group. But when you race other people, it's all serious and if you try to play it off and say that you were just having fun then you know that someone will start saying crap about your driving skills and how much better they are compared to you. I won't be playing GT4 online, as I said before, but be careful about what happens when racing online against people you don't know.
