PM Me and ask
I attempted to send a trade yesterday after reset and I received the error this person I'm sending to has already received to much and could not receive any more that trade period. So thinking he would clear out his inbox so to speak I waited till this morning and tried to send again. I got the error that I've reached my limit on trades today.

So is this a bug or what? Known parameter?

It's a known parameter. you can only have 50 items in your inbox. He will have to receive some/all of his gifts before you can send him anything. If you attempt to send any it will count as your trade for the day even though it will fail. Downer :( !

Yea that sucks...A wasted trade screws my whole trade schedule up!

Don't you get this also if you try to gift cars to accounts held on a common PS3?

You can only send one car per day even if it's to another account on the same PS3. You can send cars to a different account on the same PS3 but you only get one trade a day it doesn't matter which account you're sending it to.

That's kinda what I meant. The 'one a day' limit applies to the machine, rather than the account. I'd be interested to know what happens if you have 2 or more machines using the same internet connection. Would it differentiate?

I'm pretty sure it's one trade a day for each account & each machine. I'd like to test it as I've 2 PS3's sadly the laser is kaput on my old fat 60g :(

don't think it matters how many ps3's you have it's limited to 1 per day linked to your mac address :grumpy:

I don't think so, I have traded with people who had multiple ps3s and thus were able to send 2 cars, one per ps3.

i have multiple accounts. it is one trade (car/ticket) per machine. i am pretty sure 5 paints and 5 items. again....per machine. doesnt matter which account you use.

The trade limit applies to both the machine and the account. You can only trade one car per day from the same account even if you've got two PS3s, but you can send a ticket from another account if you've got two PS3s. So you need two different accounts and two PS3s if you want to send 2 tickets per day.

As above, I've got 2 ps3's & 2 copies of GT5 & it is just 1 trade per machine, no matter how many accounts on it.

but what about copying your game save to both machines. Then sending to people with the same name from both machines?

The reason the trade limit is one per PS3 is because gifting is recorded in the GT Data folder, not the save game. The only thing in the save game is the actual car/item(s) that you send. This is why people back-up their save game before gifting. That way, they can keep the car/item(s) they just gifted by restoring the save game from their USB drive after the gift is sent.

This is why nobody should ever have to worry about losing out in a trade these days because the only thing that can be lost is a "trade day", if the other person doesn't send their part of the trade. ;)

So why make huge ridiculous trading lists instead of trading a car, deleting game data, loading the patches with a proxy server in about 30 mins then skip the 8Gb install and sending another car?
