The 458. THE Ferarri 458 Italia.
It arrived about a week ago and since, I have bought 2 more to drive it. Again.
I went straight to the dealer to get myself a
stock one right after I've sent
the world's 458 to Abraxas. Look closely, stock.
I usually tune cars right after buying them, to get the best out of the suspension, tranny and all. But no, not to the 458. It's perfect stock.
Perfect.
Anywho, when I drove
the world's 458, it just felt like it had everything I needed.
I thought it was going to enter turns like a cement truck, and exit like an axe murderer trying to kill me.
I thought it was going to sound like Paris Hilton where it was looks over
sound. (See what I did thar ;P)
But.
The handling was far from bad, or even average. It was really, really good. It doesn't corner like a Mustang on comforts or Jeremy Clarkson's limo.
It corners like a Ferrari. It turns like how it looks and should.
When it's bored, it'll turn like a boring time attack car, gripping nearly everywhere. But hey. It's a Ferarri. Does it get bored? Hell no.
It still shows it's ass once or twice, mostly when you aren't paying attention, but that's what keeping this car exciting and fun to drive. But the grip. Ohh..
I took it around the Andretti Hairpin of Laguna Seca and boy did it hug that corner.
Really, nothing more could be said about this car's
stock handling. It took corners, ate it, then spit them out through the
god awful exhaust.
See the sarcasm there? Heh.
The sound is
AMAZING. And I do mean amazing.
No. It definitely does not sound like Paris Hilton. To give it a name, it should be more of an... an Eminem of cars.
It's throaty, full, complete exhaust sounds exactly like how a Ferrari should.
It defines itself. It's like a 4th grade exam question where they ask you to spot the answer within the question.
It's as good as it sounds, and trust me, it sounds great.
The car launches itself into corners, into straights. It's really quick, this car, stock.
Step on the gas and it'll take you from point A to point B in the shortest time possible.
If your hair was wet when you started driving it, it'll get dry by the next stoplight.
Combine this with the precise Italian handling and you'll soon see that Amuse in your rear-view.
Do I have to say anything about the looks of the car? Oh right. It got ugly with the purchasable rear wing.
Just drive it stock, goddamnit. It's so much better, fun. You get real Ferarri when you drive it stock.
Trust me, I took it around Laguna Seca for the 200 miles enduro and boy was that fun.
I've fallen in love with it.
