Currently In Tucson, AZ, USA

Our goal is to gift a car around the planet to as many GTP members as possible and if you like take a photo of the car on the track of your choice . Also, as we pass the car along we will try to put 24,901.5 miles on the car by the time it reaches its way back to the start.
Rules:
Do not under any circumstances modify the car.
You can Paint the car and change the rims of the car.
Please send the car to the next person when you are done with it on your second day so they have it for the entirety of their first day
When you send the car to the next person on the list please post the mileage, you can also post your pictures and you time for the time trial
Time Trial

The track is nurburgring nordschleife

There will be a car or ticket give to the fastest time
paints and gears for the runners up

Rules:

Totally stock oil change, chassis refresh, and engine rebuilds are allowed but not required.
You may use ballast weight and the power limiter's

How long do we keep it for and how many miles is each person required to put in? Is it optional? Are we keeping it stock apart from oil changes and maintainence? Never mind.
The 458 would be useful for the seasonal so I'm sure that would get more milage in a shorter time.
 
We should have a little competition mixed in to see who can get the most miles on the car in the time allowed :lol:
 
^ Or the fastest time around the 'Ring? If it's going to be stock then everyone has an equal base to start with.
 
I'm thinking of taking it for an endurance race. That'll put some milage on it!
 
Indeed.. so far we each have to drive it 900+ miles to make that goal distance. I'd rather not do it in the fiat 500 to be honest lol... my original choice was for the SLS AMG.

That's why I've voted for the 458. Doing that kind of milage in a 500 will take months on end! 900m in the Ferrari I can mange in a few days.

I'm not in favour of the taking a pic thing either if I'm honest. Also I echo the thoughts of not wanting the drive the Fiat for 1000 miles :lol: that could be extremely boring! I could manage it in the Ferrari though. Looks like the poll is in favour of the 458 anyway :)
 
Problem is, this poll can be voted on by anyone, not just us folks who are going to be driving the car!!! If someone was a bit naughty they could swing it in the favour of the 500 and we'd spend an eternity driving the thing around the world!
 
I'm in!! :D And I'll just take the Ferrari to La Sarthe for several (hundred) laps while grinding :) I can pocket the cash and help this project out, win-win 👍

Exactly. Maybe change out the 500 with something similar in performance to a 458? A gran-tourer would be perfect.

I voted for the Italia, because it´s so much fun to drive. And I like the Idea that every "owner" sends a pic to you or this thread (so I can use the Photo-Mode atleast once xD)

The first thread had many more cars each the 500 and 458 were tied for the most votes. Voting and registration will be open till midnight Sunday. I'll edit the op once I can get to my computer. As for the photos I'll make them optional, but suggested rather than required.

I think we'll be starting with a bone standard one with 0 miles. Also I've no objections to painting the car, in fact, it would make the photos a bit more interesting seeing what colours people use.

When is the Ferrari rolling out of the dealership to do its round the world venture? :)
 
It's a pity that we don't have paint customisation like the "other" racing game, we could all design a small tag that could be applied to the car as we go, would make it really unique by the end!

The finalized list will be posted Monday morning my time and I will plan on sending the car on Tuesday.

How does everyone feel about having a 2 day max hold on the car, do you think that will be enough time?
Also, I will finish any extra mileage need at the end so that won't be our main worry.

2 day max hold seems fine.
I like the idea of a person painting the car as it reaches them, then taking a picture of their color combinations. Adding a little personality (and fun) into the mix, y'know. :D

And last, friendly time trial and the Ring sounds good, but I think the photo's will be quite simulair apart from the colours. I think everyone should make photo's at different circuits or the circuits they live closest to.

no pressure on the 900 miles I'll put us of to a good start and finish everything left over when it gets back to me.
Also, I plan on sharing the car in its original color once I finish's its trip

Anything to spice up the photo's.
