Who needs a xbox? I gotta PS3!
I've sent several messages to people from Japan telling them I enjoyed the race & have never got a response back.
Now I understand they may just not care to respond but do the messages I send to Japan end up in Japanese or English?
I know when I type in their PSN ID in English it shows up in the message that gets sent in Japanese but does the rest of the message also get translated or could it be it stays in English & they have no idea what this "Crazy American" is saying?

Hey mate, i have sent message many messages to ppl in Japan, and it from what i can tell it translates the message, the first few messages i sent "do you understand english" and they reply "no i do not speak english thank you" and i reply another message in english and they reply again, im sure it translates all messages back and forth? as i have spoken to about 10ppl who dont speak english but reply full messages to me, this was when i had the imported Japan version of GT5 and had no one but them to talk to on the game LOL.

I am sure it does, I know when I sent GTRP_Hugo a message and Truth_123, when they reply the subject comes back in their language.

If you send a friend request, that will be translated to persons xmb language, like if my xmb is in finnish all the friend requests will come to me in finnish.
Normal messages will be sent as you type em

I have French friends and they cannot understand unless I speak over the mic with them.

98% of Japanese will not respond to any messages not written in Japanese.

I got like a whole paragraph all in Japanese. He must've liked how I drove.

d-(^^d-)

Yes sending messages to Racers who speak a different language may get mixed results, but if your really interested, I suggest learn anotehr language like myself. It would be excellent if Sony made a translator for the PM system. But until then use google translator or whatever ;)

There cant be a auto translater...

We are living in the century of people being lazy and talkin lyke dis...

wait nevermind its a possiblity but it might take ages to send a message?

Yes I think if translators where to be incorporated there would have to be some sort of quote system, so that you can choose from a number of quotes, such as: You race great or Why did you punt me you *Click here to choose your insult*, lol:lol: no I don't think the later would be incorporated...but it would helarious lol!!
Unless of course there was an option to turn off the auto translator so you could free for all type if you new the language.👍

I've has some awesome races against japanese drivers, yet by obviously having a laguage barrier i avoid sending msg's. I thought about a few nights ago due to the fact i never had a cleaner more challenging race with anyone and i wanted to say at least "nice racing". in hind-sight maybe i should have....doh

In forza I bouth an M3 with a BMW-Sauber-F1 paint job adn I removed the paint job by mistake , so I sent the guy who made it a messaeg he turned out to be japanees , so what I did is I sent him a message via web using xbox website after translating my message to Japanees , and he sent me a car right away :)

A fellow from Japan was hitting my car a bit over the line, so I messaged him .......how about we work together . Since then we are friends and he has sent me pictures of cars he owns. A funny thing happen then, there was another guy from Japan playing rough and I messaged him and he was a friend of the first fellow. we are also in contact.
I also have shared setups with guys from different countries and they have always sent me in return the setup they are using including a positive comment about my driving.........the system works for me......tedsleds

Oh come Sony, WTF? I have several Japanese friends on my XBL freinds list, THE ONLY way for us to talk is with messaging, it automatically translates the message to your langauage set on your 360, why would the PS3 not do this? No wonder my PSN list is only 20+ people, all British, or American.:indiff:

Translator would be very useful but it would take a while.

My PSN has mostly British and American people, theres like 3 FR, 1 AU, 3 JP
Ive got like 60 PSN's in two months that Ive had the PS3 👍

Hi Fujiwara, So how do you communicate with your French friends? Do you know French or do they understand English?
Cheers ;)
