I would love to do this, but it clashes with the Extreme F1 series, if it's okay I wouldn't mind testing with you guys (especially if testing involved having fun, a few races, etc)

Guide to rolling start

A successful rolling start can be relatively straight forward - here are some basic points:

  • 1) On the grid

Note your starting position and driver in front of you
Accelerate away smoothly (false starts option will be disabled)

  • 2) Formation lap

Polesitter - keep to a maximum of 75mph/121kmh where safe

Cars behind - keep between 1 and 3 car-lengths from car infront (see pics below)

Maximum 1 cars lengths/no closer (below)

  • 3) Start of Race/Crossing Start/Finish Line

Polesitter - maintain 75mph/121kmh up to the start/finish line. Upon crossing line accelerate to full race speed

Cars behind - maintain 75mph/121kmh up to the start/finish line. Upon crossing line accelerate to full race speed. Must strictly be between 1 and 3 car-lengths from car in front at this point.

Tip - I often use a post-it on the tv with an arrow pointing to the lap counter. As long as I'm at the correct speed and distance to the car in front, you can accelerate as soon as this number changes. If suddenly unsure where the line is, it is marked on the mini-map fairly clearly which will help you get your bearings.
