Serious Computer problem for days now.

Lately, I have been noticing a lot of things that has been going on with my computer. I believe that I have been gravely compromised and my network as well. My problems are:
Internet lag( somewhat constant disconnection from Xbox Live, Skype, AOL and MSN)( Youtube videos will stop at 30 secs depending on video though it will never load fully)
My dad's Yahoo email and possibly Skype has been hijacked
I can't download exe files like A-squared Scanner or anything
I have used Avast, Spybot, Malwarebytes, Ccleaner, Adaware and Advanced System Care but none of it is cleaning it up.

Any Recommendations? As of right now, I am running Housecall.
Any tips on what I should do? I have been at this for two days now and its annoying me. Should I call SBC and tell them about it? I wonder if we do have a general Computer problem thread...I need help ASAP! Thanks in advanced.

if possible, grab a program called Trojan Remover as well. this one specifically targets nothing but Trojans, old and new, and those are how some hackers get in, now. I grabbed it for a recommendation due to the virus that's supposed to take over on April fools day.

note: get your computer into safe mode for cleaning. also, go straight after ALL cookies. for some cockamamy reason, my main lag problem comes from cookies that hog memory.
 
I suggest you read what cookies are getting deleted to spot a cookie that is 'very vicious' or tenacious. I had problems like you described and they went away after deleting a bookmark that kept downloading a cookie into my system that was doing too many 'evil' things. I noticed this cookie was from the same place as the bookmark and got rid of the bookmark and that got rid of the cookie being constantly loaded onto my machine.
 
I wonder if they have it in retailed stores?I am thinking about buying AVG today from Target.
 
As soon as you posted that, I started looking at my Task manager. I have seen a few weird programs and looked them up. I am currently doing that. Though I just deleted all my bookmarks and started fresh though I am still going with the buying the premium AVG though.

I did that in my dad's laptop and somehow it got to the Yahoo. I wish I own the Disk recovery for this laptop though I don't.
 
some of us don't have the option of a clean install. retail sold computers come as is, pretty much as Hardware only, with no software whatsoever. I tried this routine with our first computer (after a craptacular version of ME, and a bad virus cluster). the computer promptly blew up.
some of us also have loads of work, saved programs, etc. that are just a LITTLE too big to stuff on a CD (and i've lost several of THOSE as well)
 
Use Avast!'s scheduled boot-time scan option. It's in one of the menus. The next time Windows is loading up, it will halt just before anything else starts and load Avast!

It's also not necessary to format before reinstalling Windows. Once Windows is reinstalled, no malicious apps (or any of your other apps for that matter) will load up at start unless you something silly like double-click a compromised app.

Keep backups of anything you can't afford to lose. Otherwise you will learn the hard way again and again.
 
I've been using that feature in Avast! Home Edition for a very long time now. I also disable the skins. Avast! is very useable after you do so.
 
I will find another location to get it. I can barely post now, I wonder if its because of XBL. Though, I was scoping around my registry that Firefox picks up alot of cookies, my MSN Host Fil(e)s are damaged. Could it possible that a Router or bitcomet could do this?

Windows 7 RC is free right now and I have it Dual booted on my pc. It works well, in fact I would use it all thew time if not for the progress I've done in COD WW. Its much faster than XP that I currently use. As for the data, I would get another HDD, load windows 7 and move the data off the old HDD. That would be after I got rid of what kind of virus is on that HDD.

Edit: I see his other problem. He doesn't have another computer to use. There are 6 in my house, 3 that I built, but I have a second PC that I use for back up when I'm doing something major to my main rig. And his is already in big trouble. Any friends around with internet access that can burn an ISO disk?

One approach that I've used with success, is to download the free install file for AVG, and rename it to whatever.exe (whatever meaning whatever you'd like to name it) and then run it.

I had a particularly nasty one the other day that my sister-in-law downloaded by mistake. When you rename it, the virus or trojan doesn't recognize the install and will let it run. Thus allowing you to download it and install it.

And because I've seen friends do this too often I loaded it to my website, already renamed. So all I have to do is pop a link into any browser and it downloads easy enough. PM me if that might help.
