Setting up A Lan Game

I was wanting to just set up a simple lan with just 2 computers. Do all i do is just hook up a cable between the 2 computers and one comp. host the lan game and the other look for it? Or is there more to this. Oh yeah I'm running win98 while my cousin laptop is running winXP, can i still play a LAN game?

Yes you can, but you'll need to configure a networking protocal. What games are you trying to play?

You need to configure TCP/IP. There are HOW-TOs on the internet. I suggest searching Google.

you will also need a cross over cable (not straight cable) to go from one computer to the other
